  • Added 8 bit tiff and png support for opening/ saving all images
  • Added 16 bit tiff support for opening/saving displacement maps
  • Added 2nd rubber polygon for croping in perspective + seamless mode.
  • Added a +/– option for blur size during sculpt. (sharper results can be obtained, but less stable too. Experimental, see it in new menu/?/Laboratory in the pay version)

New in PhotoSculpt Textures 0.48 Alpha (Sep 2, 2011)

  • Big speed improvement of 40% on big maps, 10% on small maps. (No negative impact was seen on results.)
  • Depth correction for perspective (= much less curvature with wide angle shots)
  • Memory usage improvement by 17% less on big maps. But the target of sculpting full 24mpix images is not met (yet).
  • Aesthetics improvement : new drop shadow around all 2D images and maps, what do you think?
  • Interface change : Design of source image icons , what do you think?
  • “left image” is now called “front image” for clarity
  • Bug corrected on perspective cropping
  • User experience change : 17 new warning messages added with corresponding graphics for when source image are not optimum. It detects things as too much angle or wrong position between shots, bad horizon, lighting problem, blur problem, and so on.
  • Bug corrected with windows position
  • New function : left + right mouse button pressed together now rotate around the 3d model (roll)
  • Improved graphics of the “save multiple” dialog box
  • Mesh optimization, it’s not just a grid any more, triangles are now located at key positions around details so it improves visual a bit. What do you think?
  • Disk usage cancellation for displaying 3D models = Speed improvement when displaying 3D with directX

  • improve sculpting with line detection, it's better with subjects with hard edges and horizontal lines
  • New function added : perspective cropping (not just croping only rectangles) (warning : some bugs)
  • removed the (painful) 4s waiting phase right after clicking on sculpt button

  • Improved robustness against 2 images with different exposures, also against too dark and too light images
