  • You can now choose if you want a list of matching places and events to appear automatically.
  • PixFiler will suggest to disable the list of places and events if this feature runs slowly on your computer.

  • fixed a bug that caused the program to be slower than necessary if multiple pictures were attached to a description.
  • fixed a bug that caused too many folders to be searched if you choose to attach duplicate photos.

  • Bulk Update Form: Will now automatically show a list of suggested values based on what you type.
  • Annotation Form: Will now show a list of suggested values in the 'Place' and 'Event' fields.
  • BUGFIXED:
  • fixed a bug that could cause a deleted category to reappear if the database was exported. This could also happen when using the Create CD functionallity.
  • under some circumstances, it was possible to create a sub category without selecting a main category.
  • PixFiler installation could fail if you installed a new version without stopping the program. It will now stop automatically if you check for new version in the menu and decide to install the new version.

  • IMPROVEMENTS:
  • PixFiler will now handle image files that have been moved much better. Even if you move your photo collection to a new location on your hard drive or network server, PixFiler will automatically fix this in a few minutes.
  • some performance improvements when the photos/database are stored on a networks server. Especially noticeable when using a wireless network.
  • BUGFIXES:
  • pasting text into the search field at the top of the PixFiler main form did not work. You can now paste text into this field by pressing ctrl+v when the cursor is in the search field.

  • a CD/DVD produced on a computer running Windows7 would produce a RREADONLY error when running the CD.
  • a photo index on a CD/DVD will now inherit the Display category settings of the original photo index.
  • when adding duplicat photos (File->Add Duplicate pictures) using %FILE_TYPE% as file category, PixFiler would use the file type of the first file in the folder. This has now been fixed so the file type of each file will be used.

  • speed improvements in many parts of the program, especilly if your photos are stored on a file server. Adding new photos will be faster than before if using JPEG files.

  • the "Add New Photos" form would sometimes show photos that were already in the database if they are stored on a file server.
  • multiple "adjustments" to make the program work better in a network.
  • the button that closes the Information window would sometimes be placed outside the Window.
  • This made it impossible to close the window.

  • IMPROVEMENTS:
  • during reconfigurations of a computer, Windows may change the status of a disk from fixedto removable. This could cause PixFiler to not find photos stored on this disk. A workaround for this has now been added.
  • PixFiler now supports the WDP and HDP on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
  • performance improvements when accessing database on a network.
  • you can now choose whether you want information displayed in header and footer in full screen view and slide shows. You set this in preferences.
  • BUGFIXES:
  • PixFiler sometimes had problems decoding the month name if the computer was set up to expect a month day year format. The navigator window would only show photos with date higher than 12, the others had an unknown date.
  • top and left margin adjustments did not work properly for the report "Photos w/annotations".
  • rotation of attached photos were often wrong. It should now work much better, but can still be wrong if the attached photos is very different fro the original. We are working on this issue.
  • fixed a problem that could crash the program if you tried to edit comments for a photo after the trial period had expired.
