What's new in Pixel Font Converter 2021-02-18

- Kerning:
- I added support for defining kerning pairs!
- The new field on the first tab allows you to define sets of characters and space adjustments between them - so, for example, if your font is tall enough, you can make smaller characters sit under T’s top line.
- Also I’m slowly starting to understand why all font-making software costs so much - this took an entire evening instead of estimated 20 minutes due to it being really hard to figure out what is wrong with your font - for example, if you get your kerning pairs wrong, the kerning table will just be silently skipped and you’ll be stuck trying to figure out what’s wrong by comparing your binary data against output from something that works.
- Small improvements:
- I added a tiny “calculator” to the Output tab, which should help a little with noticing that you are setting your font parameters in a way that will not work consistently across different software.
- Translations:
- Added a Romanian translation by Tudor Sprînceană.
New in Pixel Font Converter 2020-06-02 (Jun 2, 2020)
- The tool now supports emoji and other surrogate pair Unicode characters, for all your curious glyph needs.
- I have added options for picking what makes for an opaque pixel on your input image, with default being "auto-detect".
- If you have previously spent some minutes trying to figure out why your font won't render before realizing that it's white-on-transparent, this makes sure that no one else will have to.
New in Pixel Font Converter 2020-05-24 (Jun 2, 2020)
- Changes:
- The editor will now not allow you to set positive descent as having descent rise above baseline confuses software in new and unexpected ways.
- Baseline now measures until the bottom of the last pixel above the baseline rather than the top (which makes more sense). Existing JSON configurations are converted to new format automatically and nothing is expected to break.
- Translations:
- Added a Spanish translation by Makhor.
- Added a Chinese translation by yunzl.
