  • New features:
  • Support for the ReFS 3.4 and 3.7 file systems (Windows Server 2019-2022) has been added. NTFS de-duplication included.

  • The program incorrectly determined the best FAT table for FAT12/16 file systems when the sector-wise processing was used. Fixed.
  • Waste copies of GPT partitions could be found if a GPT HDD was formatted into an LDM/MBR disk. Fixed.
  • Waste copies of partition records could be found when GPT partition entries were partially overwritten. Fixed. Now they are checked against validity, and such records are ignored.
  • The FAT32 bitlocker to go couldn't be recognized. Fixed.
  • When an NTFS file system was partially scanned, its reconstructed MFT included only the scanned part of that MFT. Fixed. The non-scanned parts of the original MFT are now included, too, using its FS file.
  • If a special partition was mounted with a non-standard tool, like Mount ESP, to a disk letter through a link to the object like DeviceHarddisk0Partition1, its corresponding volume was doubled, and two volumes were created. Fixed.
  • Only a GPT partition, regardless of its validity, was parsed if the disk contained both LDM/MBR and LDM/GPT partition tables. Fixed.
  • NTFS file systems were parsed incorrectly if their cluster size was 64k. Fixed.
  • NTFS partitions weren't found in the device didn't have the boot record. Fixed.
  • Root folders with small numbers of files (1-2) on FAT16/32 file systems were detected incorrectly. Fixed.
  • Deleted partitions were not searched for if a direct volume was found on a flash drive. Fixed.
  • Partitions were shown two times if the partition GPTs had the same offset/size but different GPT Guids. Fixed.
  • SMART for intel NVME devices may have been shown incorrectly. Fixed.

  • Search for deleted file versions. R-Undelete can search for deleted file versions using their sizes, names and extensions, and recognized file types as the search parameters.
  • Improvements:
  • More reliable and significantly faster recognition of NTFS and FAT partitions.
  • Files found using both search for known file types and file record analysis are now shown only in the file/folder structure.
  • Improved data selection in the Hexadecimal editor. Now the beginning and end of the area to be selected can be set by the Select from and Select to commands in the shortcut menu.

  • Search for Extra Found Files was disabled by default during simultaneous image creation and disk scan. Fixed.

  • New features:
  • S.M.A.R.T. attribute monitoring. R-Undelete can display S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) attributes for hard drives to show their hardware health and predict their possible failures. Any unnecessary work with such hard drives should be avoided if S.M.A.R.T. warnings appear.
  • Bugfixes:
  • The Create scan information file option on the Create Image dialog box was enabled by default. Fixed.
  • R-Undelete might show deleted files/folders which MFT records were occupied with new ones on wrong places. Fixed.
  • A default Crash Report filename contained an illegal character :. Fixed.

  • R-Undelete Home: a free for home user version that recovers files from storage media with the FAT file system without any trial limitations. An ideal solution for photo and video recovery, and recovery of other files stored on SD cards, USB memory sticks, and alike. It also recovers files from NTFS disks with trial limitations. Turns into full-functioning R-Undelete upon registration.
  • A new file previewer that supports additional file formats: Adobe Acrobat pdf, Microsoft Office documents doc, xls, ppt (Office 97-2003), docx, xlsx, pptx.
  • Simultaneous image creation and scan. Now the R-Undelete can create an image and simultaneously scan the data being copied. In this case the program creates two files stored at the same place: an image file and file with the scan info.

  • Scan of large disks is improved. Now the program can process 2^64 elements rather than 2^32 as in previous versions. This prevents R-Undelete from locking while analyzing disks with huge numbers of files.
  • The GUI language can be changed on-the-fly.
  • Better file system parsing to eliminate duplicate file records.
  • Bugfixes:
  • Sometimes scan info wasn’t saved together with the image file. Fixed.
  • The same image (rdr) could be opened multiple times. Fixed.
  • The option Recover real folder structure was active when files were sorted by their real structure. Fixed.
  • The command Create Image was active for opened images. Fixed.
  • When the shortcut menu command Refresh was executed on the first panel, recognized partitions might appear, and they even could be scanned. Fixed.

  • R-Undelete might not ask the user to save scan info. Fixed.
  • When the disk has been changed, the Find Results still contained found files for the previous disk. Fixed.
  • When the disk scan was interrupted using the Stop Detailed Scan command and Stop and return to the Select Disk panel is selected, the Next button was active at the first panel even when no disks were selected. Fixed.
  • Several cosmetic bugs are fixed.
  • On the Find/Mark and File Mask dialog boxes, it was possible to enter inconsistent data interval into the between field. Fixed,
