  • You will now find quick access to common actions like archiving or labeling right below the article content. Especially for articles with lots of content this means you no longer have to scroll all the way up to the title to run actions on the news. In addition, some broken keyword feeds have been fixed and new ones added.

New in RSSOwl 2.2.0 (May 3, 2013)

  • This new version provides an easy way to unsubscribe from Google Reader as Google decided to stop this service end of June.
  • In addition, you can now export a feed as CSV file and among some bugfixes, some new share providers where added.

New in RSSOwl 2.1.6 (Dec 10, 2012)

  • This bugfix release resolves an issue when synchronizing articles with attachments with Google Reader.

New in RSSOwl 2.1.4 (Jul 30, 2012)

  • This bugfix release resolves an issue when synchronizing articles to Google Reader and receiving an error "Bad Request (400)". This could happen when RSSOwl synchronized several hundred articles in one chunk to Google. As such this issue was only showing up for power users. If you have never seen this problem, you can stay on 2.1.2.

  • Note: A star in google reader maps to the sticky state in RSSOwl
  • Note: Currently there is no automatic synchronization of subscriptions other than using the import wizard (to be clear: articles are synchronized automatically, only the list of feeds is not!)
  • Note: There is no support to use existing imported feeds from Google Reader with the synchronization support, you have to re-import those feeds. You can move all the articles of the old feed to a news-bin to keep them
  • Note: The number of news to synchronize is limited by the clean up settings (Maximum number of news to keep, Age of News in Days)

  • Windows Vista: Thanks to the latest SWT 3.3, RSSOwl is now fully supporting Vistas look and feel.
  • Windows: You can now use Mozilla as embedded browser. This requires a recent version of XULRunner being installed. Refer to the FAQ for more details.
  • Windows: In order to scroll in a scrollable element (e.g. the headlines table or newstext browser) you no longer have to select the element first. Just move the mouse over the element and begin scrolling.
  • Mac: All System-Tray and notification features are now supported (see the "System Tray" preferences page).
  • Linux: Printing is now supported (requires GTK 2.10 or newer)
  • Linux and Solaris: You can now pass an argument to the run.sh to have it handled by RSSOwl (e.g. let firefox run rssowl to subscribe to a feed).
