Radio-SkyPipe Changelog

What's new in Radio-SkyPipe 2.7.6

Nov 3, 2017
  • New defaults for Y scaling.
  • Fixed bug in SNTPclient.exe that prevented it from auto-updating the system clock.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.7.4 (Nov 3, 2017)

  • Keeps the program from prompting when the sound card expected is not detected. The message of the error now goes to the Session log.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.7.3 (Nov 3, 2017)

  • This update fixes a bug in the FTP image upload utility that caused the feature to crash.
  • This update fixes a bug in 2.7.1 that could cause a crash.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.7.1 (Jul 4, 2015)

  • Fixed problem with Append Data Files tool.
  • Removed sound card offset step from Calibration Wizard.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.7.0 (Jul 4, 2015)

  • This release adds a new way to scale the chart to best accommodate the chart values in a given range of time (view). In previous versions you could base the Y range on fixed settings or AutoScale the Y axis so that its range was determined by the maximum and minimum values in the entire data file. Now, if you check "Scale Y to View" on the Options/ Strip Chart window, the chart will scale its Y axis to frame the current data visible on the chart, and do so again whenever there is a shift in the time period encompassed by the chart. In other words, when reviewing a chart and you advance to the left or right using the arrow buttons, the Y axis will scale to vertically accommodate only the visible data, (plus a 10% buffer). This new feature may slow scrolling because each advance requires recalculating the new range. If you have a large number of samples visible on the chart, the delay will increase. When collecting live data, the program checks about every 20 seconds to see if the chart needs rescaling.
  • This release fixes some bugs in the Review windows.
  • The Tics and Line options selected for the main window will be applied to Review windows.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.6.4 (Jul 4, 2015)

  • This release fixes bugs in the Define Event procedure that caused an error when trying to upload wav files to the new Jove Archive.
  • This release reorders of some parameters when uploading to the Jove Archive.
  • This release has some important updates to the UDS feature. UDS is the Radio-SkyPipe feature which allows you to connect to custom User Data Sources using a simple protocol. This release fixes some UDS related bugs and allows direction connection with UDS enabled devices over a serial connection (before we just had TCP).
  • In this release I have extended the UDS feature to the free version of RSP.

New in Radio-SkyPipe 2.4.0 (Jul 4, 2015)

  • This release includes a new detection mode for sound card inputs. The new mode is Pulse Count mode. This mode counts the number of pulses arriving at the sound card during the sample period. This mode is not exactly the same as the peak frequency mode which is invoked using a keyword in an Equation. The peak frequecy mode has low resolution at lower frequecies due to the nature of the FFT mechanism. The Pulse Count mode is best used with a square or sine wave on the audio line and can handle pulse rates as low as 10 or 20 pulses/second. The upper range is about 5.5 kilopulses/second.
  • To count pulses simply select Pulse Count as the detection
  • method for a given sound channel under Options / Data Source.
  • Other recent improvements:
  • Fixed wav cursor synch problem for stereo wav files.
  • Fixed Event Submitter problem.
  • Message manager now closes when RSP closes.
  • Right clicking on Full View produces full X axis but retains the current Y axis setting.
