New in Replay Video Capture 11.5.0.0 (Mar 27, 2022)

  • Windows 11 compatibility:
  • This version addresses primarily Windows 11 compatibility especially when recording from different web browsers. Replay Video Capture has always insured compatibility with all Windows versions and all computer configurations. Whether you’re using a superclass or an old clunker computer you’ll always get high quality recordings when capturing streaming movies or other Internet video/audio broadcasts.
  • Improved audio setup:
  • More resources added for checking the computer audio including properties and functionality of the audio sources. This is necessary especially when external audio sources like Bluetooth and USB are used which sometimes give false information about their operation.
  • New improved scheduler version:
  • Scheduled audio recordings are now possible which can be used to schedule recordings of Internet radio stations. Mouse clicks necessary to open video/audio streams can now be recorded. Scheduler can detect browser window titles. This allows opening the scheduled windows even if other windows are opened. And much more.
  • Video/audio downloader (youtube-dl, yt-dlp):
  • GUI interface for youtube-dl and yt-dlp. Use this software to download video/audio clips from many websites with emphasis on video and audio playlists from YouTube. VLC Media Player can be programmed to make video/audio playlists for playback.
  • Improved installation of ActiveX controls (for new installations):

This driver was specifically designed for Windows 10 but it can be also used with any Windows version including XP.
  • Improved, complete redesign of the Thumb Mode:
  • Thumb mode allows you to run Replay Video Capture from a USB external drive (thumb drive). All recordings and settings are saved on the USB drive not on the host computer.
  • Improved Background recording:
  • Background recording was always one of the main requested features of Replay Video Capture. Recording videos without showing the actual video on the screen allows you to use the desktop to do other things during recording. Enable Background mode, click Hide to make the video window disappear from the screen then open other windows or programs.
  • Picture in Picture:
  • When using the Background mode, enable the Picture in Picture option in Settings then mark your video on the screen,. Click Hide then Detach. Now your selected video window plays as Picture in Picture on your desktop.

  • Monitor scaling (New):
  • This version includes monitor scaling for primary and secondary monitors. In particular with Windows 8.1 and Windows10 you can now use different scaling levels on the primary and secondary monitor.
  • Game recording:
  • While previous versions can be used to record games, this version adds features that makes it easier and more user friendly to record games played in windowed mode.
  • Hotkeys (New):
  • A large number of key combinations can be selected as hotkeys. This is particularly important when recording games. Please note that the default hotkeys used in the previous versions have been changed. The default hotkeys are now: Alt + A for start/stop recording, Alt + S for pause/restart, Alt + D for mute/unmute the microphone. Use the Settings if you need to change.
  • Improved webinar and document recordings:
  • Windows Media Screen 9 codec and Dual Audio recording are the new additions (see below).
  • Windows Media Screen 9 codec (New):
  • This codec can be used when very small file size recordings are needed.
  • Dual audio recording (New):
  • Dual audio recording is now available with all listed video codecs. In order to avoid the echo feedback between speakers and microphone a Mute/Unmute hotkey and buttons are included.
  • WM Browser:
  • WM Browser is a reduced version of Internet Explorer and can be used instead when videos played by IE cannot be captured. In general we recommend using other browsers for screen recording - Chrome, Firefox, Opera instead of Internet Explorer / Edge especially when recording larger HD movies and videos.

New in Replay Video Capture 7.4.1 (Apr 25, 2015)

  • Windows Media Screen:
  • Windows Media Screen video format is specifically designed to record low motion videos like webinars, power point presentations, slide shows, documents, web pages and many other similar media. • Misc. bug fixes.

New in Replay Video Capture 7.2 (Nov 12, 2013)

  • Background mode (BCK)
  • This is a new modality of recording video from your computer screen introduced by Replay Video Capture. Conventional screen capture of a video requires the video to be visible and in the same screen position for the entire duration of recording. As a result you cannot use the screen for running other programs that obscure the video window. In the BCK mode the recorded video doesn’t need to be visible anymore. You can hide the recording window and use the screen for running other programs. Now you can read your email, write documents or search the web while recoding your video in the background. No other screen capture program offers this groundbreaking feature at this time.
  • Thumb Drive mode
  • This is another new, unique feature introduced by Replay Video Capture 7. When you enable the Thumb Drive mode you can move the program from one computer to another without the need for another installation. Once you remove the drive there are no traces you’ve done any work on that computer. So if your employer does not allow installation of any programs on company’s computers or you want your recording activity to be private you can still capture videos from any computer screen with no hassles and no need for installation.
  • iPhone, iPod, iPad, Android, Apple, YouTube video format added
  • Version 6.2 includes MP4 video format used by all mobile devices and Apple computers. It can also be used for YouTube video submissions. The recorded videos are properly scaled to fit the specified mobile device screen and preserve the aspect ratio. No additional conversions are necessary when MP4 scaled videos are transferred to mobile devices.
  • Windows 8 compatibility
  • While previous versions can be successfully used with Windows 8 this version adds features that improve functionality on this new Windows version. You need to run your Windows 8 in the Desktop mode.
