  • Improvements:
  • The rule of focus moving is improved when using the Tab key to move focus.
  • On Windows Vista/7, the effects of setting Risingware Exp+ as the default browser are improved, so you can now activate a webpage link in apps like Windows Live Messenger and MS Office Word/Excel with Risingware Exp+.
  • Bug Fixes:
  • Fix File Manager
  • File Search Results, created by Advanced File Search, could sometimes be incomplete. This issue has been fixed.
  • While editing in the content panel of a folder tab, the current view would be refreshed immediately, and the scroll bar would be reset to the top, but it shouldn't have had, for it would change the view in focus. This issue has been fixed.
  • Fix Web Browser
  • An occasional issue, where using a hotkey F5 or pressing the [Refresh] button on the toolbar was not working, has been fixed.
  • Browsing a Google document, created by Google Docs, was not smooth. This issue has been fixed.
  • Fix Fast Start Genie
  • On Windows 7, dragging any item from a folder to the Fast Start Bar above would clear all existing items on that bar. This issue has been fixed.
  • Fix General Functions
  • When the Java installed on your computer was version 1.5, Risingware Exp+ could not be initialized, and an error message would not be displayed. This issue has been fixed to display an error message and give instructions to install Java 1.6.
  • The mouse wheel can slide on the tab bar from side to side and in the content panel of a browser tab from top to bottom and vice versa. Risingware Exp+ is designed to regain the focus automatically without a mouse click when switching from the tab and the content panel; however, it didn't work on Windows 7. This issue has been fixed.

  • New Features:
  • Newly Well-Designed "New Tab"
  • Whenever a new tab is created, this newly designed "New Tab" will display by default.
  • Each new tab includes interchangeable pages, including [Recent Webpages], [Recent Folders], [Fast Starts], [Computer], and [Groups].
  • In different pages, dedicated items for each page can be added or removed. For example, a URL for [Recent Webpages] page, a folder path for [Recent Folders] page, a start path of document or app for [Fast Starts].
  • Apart from mainmenu [Groups], you may also add or organize groups here.
  • You can drag Items, including folders, docs, links, and shortcuts, from other location and drop them on any icon, such as "+" icon, in [Groups] page. After doing so, this item will be added to the current group.
  • Risingware Exp+ is now able to be configured as the default browser, applicable for Vista/Windows 7.
  • Improvements:
  • The UI layout of [New Group] and [Organize Groups] window has been largely improved by splitting 1 somewhat cluttered-looking page into 2 organized-looking pages.
  • A link that takes you to "Install Plug-ins" page on Risingware.com has been added to the bottom of [Manage Plug-ins] window.
  • Adding a new tab gets more convenient after the change in the location of the [New Tab] button, from fixed in rightmost corner of each tab bar to dynamic positioned, right to the rightmost tab.

  • Fix Web Browser
  • Accelerators: A issue of failing to disable a plug-in in [Manage Accelerators] window has been fixed.
  • Webpage e-Mailer: Once the title tag () of a web page contained any special character, such as "|", blank spot and the like would be displayed with html code in the title of email received. This issue has been fixed.
  • A issue of accessing a Google Document would encounter a displaying error has been fixed.
  • Fix General Functions
  • Authorization code: Your Authorization code for Professional Edition previously registered in the program would be cleared when upgrading to a newer version. This issue has been fixed.

  • Add a tool: Risingware i-Desktop
  • Add a Windows desktop replacement extending your current desktop and containing more shortcuts to end clutter. With this tool, you can:
  • Customize desktops to house shortcuts by category. Each desktop can be set with a distinct banner and background.
  • Customize shortcuts which can be created by dragging and dropping files or applications here.
  • Initialize an embedded tool of Risingware Exp+.
  • Add options for system layout
  • To render a simpler UI, Exp+ now provides three options for program layout, File Manager Mode, Web Browser Mode, and Export Mode, which blends the former two and is the only one choice before.

  • The Exp+ help file has been embedded to Exp+ program UI, so you can expand or collapse its content pages in Navigation Panel.
  • When first initialing Exp+, a welcome page of Help Center will display to guide you through.
  • Using hotkey F1 while using a main tool or function of Exp+ will open its help page in a new tab.
  • Improve Open Items Selectively function for Favorites and Groups
  • You can now make invert selection when selectively opening items of a favorite or a group. In this way, these items can be opened partially in one panel, and the rest to the other.

  • Fix Web Browser
  • The drag and drop of a link in a few web pages didn't succeed in opening it. This problem has been fixed.
  • Fix File Manager
  • Occasionally, an Advanced File Search window would be opened in background. This problem has been fixed.
  • After setting files of a file type to be opened by Exp+, the screen flickered whenever one of those were opened. This problem has been fixed.
  • Fix General Functions
  • If the tab to be opened when closing out all tabs was set in Exp+ Setup Center to be a Start Page, an action of closing out all tabs might cause Exp+ to halt. This problem has been fixed.
  • Clicking on a Visited Folders button or on a Visited Webpages button didn't open its drop-down menu due to no such tabs having been opened before. This problem has been fixed.
  • Occasionally, the change in the width of Navigation Panel was not saved successfully. This problem has been fixed.
  • A few Exp+ processes in the Task Manager was not closed after the exit of Exp+. This problem has been fixed.
  • Exp+ saved the selection of some checkboxes in Open Items Selectively window used to open favorites and groups despite the exit without even opening these items. This problem has been fixed.

  • Unique Multi-Process and Multi-Thread Design:
  • Starting from this version, we implement a multi-process design for Exp+ Browser.
  • Multi-process means that all browser tabs no longer use the only one process, instead, they use multiple processes. One thread per web page, as the threads increase, a new process will be automatically created. The significant benefit is that it makes Exp+ Browser much faster, and more stable.
  • As for some of you who may concern about a memory consumption issue, we also keep a uni-process design as option, which can be set up in Exp+ Setup Center.
  • Enabling Java Applets:
  • With Java 1.6.0_10, Java applets can be enabled in browser tabs now! Make sure your computer has installed this Java version. You may also change this setting in Exp+ Setup Center.
  • Supporting 7zip Archives:
  • You can not only compress and extract Zip archives, but compress and extract 7z archives. You may select one of the formats by right-clicking on folders or files.
  • Improvements
  • Auto-Clicking Drop-Down Menu
  • When the drop-down menu is too long, a bottom arrow and a top arrow will appear. Traditionally, to go down one item, you have to click the bottom arrow once. How inconvenient it is!
  • Starting from this version, when cursor staying on the bottom arrow, auto-clicking will be performed until the bottom of the list is reached. This function is applied to folder tab, group list in mainmenu Group, and Favorites and so on.
  • Clearer syntax for using web search engine aliases
  • To avoid confusing, syntax of using alias to activate web search engines has been changed.
  • Before: Use Space to separate alias and key words.
  • Now: Use Colon (:) to separate alias and key words.
  • Fancier Location Bar for Folder Tabs
  • For a better user experience, the appearance of location bar in folder tabs has become more attractive. This feature is also applied to Batch File Renamer and Directory Synchronizer.
  • Bug Fix
  • Displaying An Error Message of Web Page e-Mailer:
  • If any error occurred when e-mailing a web page, an error message will be popped up in this version.
  • Displaying An Error Message of Scheduled Backups:
  • When backup destination path is not accessible, auto-backups cannot be executed, an error message will be popped up in this version.

  • Web Page e-Mailer: This feature enables you to send any web page to a friend, and only requires you to do the one-time setting of SMTP, including server address, port etc, for instance, you can set proxy sever as ms2.hinet.net with port no.25.
  • Fast Start Toolbar: So many hotkeys to remember? If Fast Start Genie is good enough for you, this toolbar makes it even better! You can add any Windows commands in Fast Start Genie, then add any of them to the Fast Start Toolbar to fast start any frequently use Windows program.
  • Exp+ Setup Center: This center greatly enhances the configuration capability for Exp+. You can change UI language if you like, set your own home page and start page, appoint the path for a new tab, config which toolbar to display, and enable which buttons on the status bar and more.
  • Customizable Toolbar: Except of Fast Start Bar, you can also customize Function Key Bar.
  • Correct Encoding of Help file: We apologize for the help file which can't be read in the previous versions. That's caused by a wrong html encoding. In this version of Exp+, this problem has been solved.
  • Fix the display problem of Main-menu Icon: On some computers, not many, the icons on drop-down menu of main-menu sometimes can't display properly. The source of the problem is the path of local http or html icon was changed by the other programs. In this version, we already solve this problem.
