  • Runner's Studio will now notify you whenever you get a personal achievement. Everytime you enter a run (either manually or through an import), RS will notify you if you just got a personal best!
  • A new achievements page has been added. This screen highlights your personal achievements such as your longest run, your farthest run, your coldest run, your most intense run and more!
  • The My Bests link in the top header will now take you to the new Achievements page
  • PWX files from Training Peaks and Timex GPS watches can now be imported!
  • Fixed GPX import issue where heart rate data was not being imported from Suunto watches

  • You can now import FIT files into Runner's Studio. FIT files can automatically be imported when Runner's Studio starts or manually via the Tools -> Import Data menu
  • GPX activities downloaded from MapMyRun.com can now be imported into Runner's Studio. Previously these files would not import because of lack of time data. (Personal time data will need to be entered manually after imported.)
  • New Training Courses and Races can now be created when importing data using the Super GPS Import screen (accessible via the Tools -> Import Data menu option)
  • Fixed issue where Super GPS Import would incorrectly show Polar HRM files as previously imported
  • When importing a race via the Super Import screen, the race type would not get set when selecting an existing race to import in to. This has been fixed
  • You can now set up equipment defaults that will automatically be added to any new activity. Simply navigate to the details screen for an equipment item and select which types of activities the equipment should automatically be added to. Any new activities (imported or manualy entered) will automatically have this equipment associated with it

  • Fixed issue where calories on imported TCX files were doubled. These activities will need to be reimported in order to get the correct calorie value.

  • Fixed issue on Automatic Import screen where assigning values on right side of screen did not update activity to be imported. This issue only occurred when importing a single activity.

  • The manual import of GPS files (TCX and GPX) no longer use the import wizard tool but the new Super Import tool. This option is available via the Tools -> Import Data menu option.
  • Multiple files can be selected for the manual import. (While selecting an activity with your mouse, hold down the SHIFT or CTRL key to select multiple files.)
  • You can now re-import GPX and TCX files that have previosly been imported. Activities that have been imported previously will be highlighted in red in the import tool.
  • Importing Polar .hrm files will now be done using the new Super Import tool.
  • Polar .hrm files can now be imported automatically when Runner's Studio starts. This can be configured via User Preferences and clicking on the Import At Startup tab.
  • On the User -> Preferences page, renamed the "GPS Data Import" tab to "Automated Data Import". Runnere's studio will now also monitor for new .HRM files at startup.

New in Runner's Studio 3.0.0.0 (May 2, 2013)

  • RS V3 has a fresh new look! We hope you will find the new layout easier to use and navigate. While some things will be familiar, navigating the app is a little different. The first thing you will notice is the introduction of the "tile". The tile is an engaging concept that will let you see your data in a whole new way. The tile not only serves as a navigation mechanism, but it allows you to quickly scan all aspects of your data (personal bests, equipment usage, trends, etc.) in one quick glance! From there, you can quickly drill down to the underlying details with one click. Coupled with the new function of being able to associate images with some key data, your dashboard is now more powerful than ever!
  • Shoes are now called Equipment. Also, you can now add multiple equipment items to your training and race activities!
  • Images can now be associated with Equipment (previously Shoes).
  • Equipment list page now has the option to view Active Only or All equipment.
  • Note: If you previously configured your activity or race log to display “Shoe” data, this column will no longer be an option in V3. Shoes are now called Equipment and you will need to add the Equipment column via Customize options to your respective log
  • Images can now be associated with training courses.
  • The course list page now has the option to view Active Only or All courses.
  • Runner’s Studio can now import GPX data files.
  • Improved GPS import screen. Customize your activities more easily before importing! Importing your GPS data has become much faster, easier, and configurable.
  • You can now setup Runner’s Studio to monitor a Windows folder for new GPS files and import them automatically into your activity log every time you start Runner’s Studio! Click on the “GPS Data Import” tab in User Preferences to setup this feature.
  • You can now import multiple GPS files at one time using the Utilities->Import Data option.
  • Maps have been added to the GPS import screen.
  • You can now include races, workouts, and/or training runs together on the printable monthly calendar. Previously, you could only include one type on the print version.
  • Notes can now be added to the printable version of the monthly calendar.

  • View your All Time Bests! You can now view your Farthest Run, Longest Run, Most Calories Burned in an activity, and your Fastest 1 Mile Split. Look for a hidden button in the app header to access this feature!
  • Tuned % HR calculations to auto calculate your maximum heart rate if you have noy entered a value in your User Profile within a year of the date of the activity calculating for.
  • There is now a new User Preference for displaying temperatures. You can choose whether to display 0 or blank values for zero temperatures
  • Fixed bug in Export Utility. Previously, if data (course name, running shoes, etc) had a comma in the name, the data would not export correctly. This has been fixed.
  • Runner’s Studio will now behave nicely regardless of your Windows Font settings.
  • You can now delete multiple activities in the activity log. Simply select the activities to delete (using Ctrl of Shift keys) and right click for the delete option.
  • Fixed issue on Race History screen where filtering by Race Type would sometimes not work.

  • IMPORTANT UPGRADE NOTE! This new version of Runner’s Studio REQUIRES MICROSOFT .NET 4.0. If you do not already have .NET 4.0 installed, you can download it here.
  • Runner’s Studio can now post activities, upcoming races, and completed races to Facebook! Look for a new Facebook icon on the activity/race detail screen in the options bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • You can now record your mood for activities and races. For each activity, select if you were feeling Good, Ok, Bad, or Hurt. Add the mood icon to your activity or race history log by selecting the Customize Display option.
  • Lap charts are now available on races and training activities. No GPS data required. You can also set this chart as your default chart via the User -> My Preference menu option (via the Display tab).
  • You can now create custom fields that are text only (previously only numeric custom fields could be created). You can add custom fields to your activity log via the Customize Display option. You can create custom fields via the User -> Custom Activity Types menu options (on the Step 2: Create Custom Fields tab)

  • By popular demand, races can now be viewed in the Activity Log. As a result of this change, the “Show Races on Calendar” option has been removed. Races will show up on mini calendars now if new Include Races filter options is checked.

  • Fixed issue where the My Header would sometimes go negative when counting down to the next race.

  • Customize your training activity entry by creating custom data fields.
  • Create unique custom fields for individual activity types. For example, create a custom field called "Lunges" to record only for Running activities and another one called "Laps" only for Swimming activities.
  • Customize your training Activity Log for each activity. You can now customize which fields to display in your log when filtering by different activity types.
  • For each custom data field, you may chart your progress via the "Chart Training Activities" option.
  • Custom field data will be accessible via the Run and Race compare tools.
  • There is now a new user preference which will allow you to set which tab on the Activity Detail screen to initially display. You can set this option by navigating to the "User -> My Preferences" menu option and selecting the "Display" tab.
  • You can now customize your training activity entry screen. You can configure which data fields to show for each activity type.

  • New mega goals have been added! - South Africa, Trans-Siberian Railway, Amazon River, the Way of St. James, and the Alaskan Iditarod Trail.
  • You can now track more than one mega goal. In addition, the Mega Goal screens have been re-vamped to allow you to easily see your status and stats for each goal.
  • When you complete a mega goal, you will receive a special notification informing you that the mega goal was completed.
  • Added an estimated completion date to mega goals. Now as you log distance toward a mega goal, Runner’s Studio will show you an estimated completion date.

  • Runner’s Studio now supports multiple users! If you have multiple runners in your household, you can now use a single software license of Runner’s Studio to track everyone’s training activities.
  • User preferences are now saved with the data file. This means that each user can set their own preferences as well as the preferences are included in the data file backup.
  • Moved the "Delete Profile Entry", "Add Profile Entry", and "Profile Chart" buttons to be more visible.
  • Profile entries are initially read only. You must either double click a profile item or click the edit button to change a profile entry.

  • New User Profile History! You can now track your personal profile statistics separate from your training activities. Use the User Profile to track your weight, resting heart rate, maximum heart rate, body fat percentage, and BMI. You can also record injury notes, wellness notes, and a personal photo for each profile history item. Charts are available for all user profile items.
  • For existing users, Weight and Resting Heart Rate information will automatically be imported into your User Profile when you run version 2.1 for the first time.
