- Author Anonymizer was not installed properly due to a bug in the installation program. This is now fixed.
New in TransTools+ 2.3 (Feb 5, 2024)
- Added a new tool — Author Anonymizer. This batch tool anonymizes user information in revisions (tracked changes), comments and document properties in Word documents. Using this tool, you can quickly replace names of one or several authors, e.g. translators or editors, in multiple documents so that your customer sees ‘Translator’, ‘Editor’ or a custom author name of your choosing.
- Highlighting Tool: if a document does not contain locked areas but includes locked content controls, the tool could not clear highlighting, displaying an error message. This is now fixed.
- Hide/Unhide Text: if a document does not contain locked areas but includes locked content controls, the tool could not complete the Unhide Everything operation. This is now fixed.
- Document Processing Tool’s window is now resizable and the window size is saved between sessions.
- Changed .NET version to version 4.5.
- Several minor fixes.
- The version of TransTools Migration Utility included in TransTools+ installation package was updated to v. 1.1. This version of TransTools Migration Utility supports new settings added to TransTools+.

- The version of TransTools Migration Utility included in TransTools+ installation package was updated to v. 1.0.1. This version of TransTools Migration Utility supports new settings added to TransTools; there is no need to upgrade unless you are using both TransTools+ and TransTools.

- TransTools Migration Utility was included in TransTools+ installation package. TransTools Migration Utility helps you transfer settings and configuration files of TransTools / TransTools+ between computers or user profiles, providing a quick and easy way to recover from computer failures, back up tool configuration, migrate settings to another computer, share settings between colleagues, etc.
New in TransTools+ 2.1 (Aug 31, 2023)
- Hide/Unhide Text tool now includes the ability to hide text located in tables. The new Tables option can be found by selecting “Hide Text Based On Its Location” option under Hiding Options. Using this option, you can specify which columns and rows need to be marked as hidden or non-hidden using a variety of settings. For example, you can specify that all cells except the header cell in a column named “Translation” must be marked as non-hidden while the rest of the document text should be marked as hidden. This greatly speeds up translation of Word documents containing localization tables.
- Various fixes and improvements in Pre-flight Checker tool:
- Bug fix: if the Clear Highlighting operation is added to the list of operations for correcting the document, this operation is now always executed before other operations to avoid clearing highlight colors applied by other operations.
- Bug fix: if Highlight In Color operation for Hidden Text is added to the list of operations for correcting the document, this operation is now always executed before highlight colors are applied to other issues in order to make sure that these color highlights are visible.
- Bug fix: the order of checks was not copied to a new profile when the profile was duplicated. This is now fixed.
- Fix: improved the algorithm for normalizing formatting variations for Paragraphs Having Font, Font Size and Font Color Variations in order to minimize CAT tool tags in additional scenarios.
- Improvement: under Paragraphs Having Font, Font Size and Font Color Variations, preview tooltips used to display information about font, font size and font color of each part of paragraph text. For clarity, only the types of formatting that have variations are now displayed. For example, if only font size differs across a paragraph while font and font color are uniform, only font size information will be displayed.
- Usability improvement: if Selection scope is chosen by the user in order to check selected text only, and color highlighting, hidden text or optional hyphens are detected, the tool will now warn the user when correcting the document if the originally checked document selection is different from the document selection during the final correction operation.
- Fixed a minor UI issue in Document Processing Tool.
- Hide/Unhide Text tool: updated user interface text of hiding options for clarity.
- Minor usability fix in Hide/Unhide Text, Highlighting Tool and Multiple Find & Replace tool.

New in TransTools+ 2.0 (Jun 12, 2023)
- dded a new tool - Pre-flight Checker. This tool checks a Word document for various formatting issues prior to translation in a CAT tool, delivery to the customer, or in other scenarios, and allows you to correct these issues if needed. This initial version integrates the following checks: 1) tab characters between words (which may used instead of spaces by mistake or to format tabular text), 2) zero-width spaces and zero-width non-joiners which cause issues in CAT tools, 3) hidden text (to avoid a situation when a document containing previously hidden text is sent to a customer), 4) text with color highlighting (to avoid a situation when color highlighting was used for a special purpose but was not cleared before sending to the customer), 5) manual hyphens (these can pose issues in some CAT tools), 6) paragraphs having font, font size or font color variations (these often indicate formatting problems or cause extra tags), 7) false tables of contents, 8) excessive spaces (which reduce TM leverage in CAT tools and reduce style guide compliance), 9) partly invisible text inside table cells. Additional checks will be added soon. The tool comes with built-in profiles that are configured for two typical scenarios - checking a document before importing it into a CAT tool and checking a document before delivering it to your customer - and allows you to create your own profiles of custom checks.
New in TransTools+ 1.9.1 (Jul 24, 2022)
- [Multiple Find & Replace, Highlighting Tool, Hide / Unhide Text]: If a search expression contains errors (e.g., regular expression syntax error, wildcard syntax error, or find text being too long), a message is now displayed and the appropriate search expressions are highlighted in the search expression list with extra information in a separate column.
- Fixed UI issues.
- In some cases, tool panels did not appear on the screen when a tool's ribbon button was clicked. This has been fixed.
New in TransTools+ 1.9 (Mar 25, 2022)
- The menu choices for Insert Symbol button within the Item Editor in Multiple Find & Replace, Highlighting Tool and Hide/Unhide Text tools have been corrected.
- Fixed a bug when performing replacements inside comments, both in Multiple Find & Replace tool and in Spacing, Punctuation and Symbol Correction Tool.
- It is now possible to select a custom font color in Hide/Unhide Text tool, Multiple Find & Replace tool and DTP Tools. This can be done by selecting a color from a color palette, entering its RGB value or picking a color from the screen.
- Document Processing Tool: If Hide / Unhide Text tool with Unhide Text operation is used as a processing step in Document Processing Tool, and the document being processed contains previously hidden text that needs to be restored, the tool now restores the hidden formatting.
- Hide / Unhide Text tool: When Unhide operation is performed and the document contains text which was hidden in the original document and was preserved as per user option, the user will see a message reporting the number of such hidden fragments.
- Spacing, Punctuation and Symbol Correction Tool:
- When a profile is duplicated, the new profile is selected automatically.
- Minor fix: when Close / Cancel button was clicked and there were unsaved changes, no message was shown to warn the user that these changes would be lost.
New in TransTools+ 1.8.1 (Dec 20, 2021)
- Multiple updates in Tracked Changes Assistant:
- Improved the revision analysis approach to make it more accurate and prevent issues in heavily revised documents.
- Fixed a freezing issue in heavily revised documents containing “invalid” insertions/deletions.
- If the document being analyzed contains “invalid” insertions/deletions and they cannot be skipped, the user will now see an appropriate message prompting them to resave the document to an alternative format before running a new analysis.
- If revisions contain inline or floating shapes, the user will now see a message prompting them to count text in these shapes manually as they are not yet counted by the tool.
- Minor fixes across all tools for more reliable processing of documents containing tracked revisions.
New in TransTools+ 1.8 (Nov 12, 2021)
- Added a new tool - Tracked Changes Assistant. This tool analyzes tracked changes in the current document and produces a detailed word count report to help you estimate the effort required for translating the tracked changes. Besides the standard word count, character counts and number of distinct changes, the tool also offers a breakdown by type of changes: whole paragraphs, individual sentences, etc. Future versions of the tool will provide additional capabilities.
- Multiple Find & Replace: Minor additions to the standard ‘DTP after OCR’ list.
- Small bug fixes across all tools and in DTP Tools.

- Added a new tool - DTP Tools. Using this tool, you can format Word documents quickly by using preset or ad-hoc formatting commands organized into lists. This makes DTP Tools a perfect choice for working with Word documents converted from PDFs.

New in TransTools+ 1.6.1 (Jul 9, 2021)
- Document Processing Tool: Implemented the ability to save the default scope of processing operations (i.e. document body, headers/footers, etc.). This will be useful if you do not want to process specific parts of Word documents, e.g. headers/footers, and need to change document processing options every time.
