New in SetACL Studio 1.2 (Mar 29, 2012)

  • New features / improvements:
  • Operations on objects in the tree view, bypassing security (regardless of permissions):
  • Renaming files and directories
  • Creating directories
  • Creating registry keys
  • Deleting directories and files
  • Deleting registry keys
  • Operations on objects in the tree view without bypassing security:
  • Renaming registry keys
  • Multilevel undo (before, only the last command could be undone). Now an unlimited number of commands can be undone.
  • Changes to DACL and SACL can now be saved in one operation. Previously, each had to be modified and saved individually.
  • Improved the permission selection popup: When "full" is selected, all other permissions are unchecked. Likewise, if "full" is checked and another permission is selected, "full" is unchecked.
  • Reduced the number of open handles, especially if many items are displayed in the tree view.
  • Inherited permissions can now be hidden from view.
  • When the program is launched, the previously selected item in the tree view is selected. If that does not exist any more, the nearest parent element is now selected.
  • Bugfixes:
  • Application error dialog: "is user admin" was always false
  • Licenses for the wrong product version (e.g. a beta) were accepted in the licensing dialog but did not unlock the application
  • Object picker: On domain-joined machines the location is now correctly preset to the domain
  • Temporary backup files in %TEMP% are now deleted more reliably
  • Deleted remote computers in the tree view would reappear after a restart of the application
  • Fixed smaller bugs related to keyboard navigation
