  • Weather report uses the default proxy settings now, if a proxy is configured

New in Sharp World Clock 5.8 (Jul 18, 2012)

  • Added "Shadow" checkbox in Clock Designer section (below the font selectors), to optionally re-enable the drop shadows for the labels, which were disabled in version 5.79. This checkbox works globally for all clocks, not just for the selected clock. It applies to City/Date/Time labels as well as AM/PM and Offset labels in analog mode.
  • Fixed a small layout bug: for single clocks in digital-only mode the "Gloss" effect would overlap the clock rim, if enabled.

New in Sharp World Clock 5.79 (Jun 4, 2012)

  • Flag size trackbar is now correctly hidden, when there is no flag available (for virtual locations/time zones)
  • Added explaining help text to the time format list (Clock Designer section), changed its colors and renamed it from "Documentation" to "Date / Time Lookup Table" (some users did not realize this was no control, just a lookup table)
  • Added help text over the "Ctrl Mode" selector, for single (undocked) clocks
  • Removed drop shadow from the city / date / time labels, to improve the performance on slower computers
  • Fixed small bugs in the Sunrise / Sunset section and in the font selectors

  • Fixed update module / file downloader, which did not work / worked slowly for many users

New in Sharp World Clock 5.77 (Jun 4, 2012)

  • Added "Past Transitions" to the (daylight saving) "Transitions" table. Switch between upcoming and past transitions with a link.
  • Fixed a small layout bug in the Countries / Time Zones / Transitions tables (table was partially hidden in the lower part).
  • Fixed a bug, where the position of the clock was not correctly restored, when a "one-column" layout was selected

New in Sharp World Clock 5.76 (Jun 4, 2012)

  • When setting a time zone with a greater UST offset than the computer's UTC offset, a crash would result in the sunrise / sunset module because of invalid sun data. Solution: disabled calculation and display of sunrise / sunset data for virtual (time zone) locations. Also disabled ("n/a") latitude and longitude display.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in a crash, when trying to clone a single (undocked) clock.
  • Fixed a bug that could result in a crash in the font dialog, when an invalid font was selected.
  • Small improvement: when changing a font size inside the "Select Font" dialog, it will now have an effect (within the limits of the track bar) and will not be ignored.

New in Sharp World Clock 5.73 (Mar 27, 2012)

  • In the Time Zone Calculator dialog the labels for the time zones and the daylight saving information are now correctly updated for the destination city and the target city, when the date/time pickers are set; they do not just show the current UTC offset / daylight saving status anymore, but for the target date/time instead.
  • In the Live Time Shift (same dialog) the minutes can now be set with or without a 5 minutes grid.
  • The dimmer has a new configuration option: "Dim before 6 AM and after 6 PM"
  • Fixed time zone for Panama

New in Sharp World Clock 5.72 (Feb 28, 2012)

  • Bug fix: when editing a one-time alarm that was set for a foreign time zone (inserted after converting to local time), the selection was shown for the foreign time zone, but the time picker for local time

New in Sharp World Clock 5.60 (Feb 18, 2012)

  • The dimmer has new configuration options, additionally to the "out-of-office" hours: dim from noon until midnight and dim during night time (after sunset and before sunrise).
  • The dimming can be disabled for a single (undocked) clock, which is especially useful when using such a clock as an "anchor" or replacement for the desktop (sidebar) clock, where a dimming effect would not look good.
  • Added new option "Integrate Corners" to the Settings->Miscellaneous section. This allows you to remove the rounded corners from the clocks within the clock array. Only the four corner clocks keep rounded corners. Especially along with the option "no margins" this looks very elegant.
  • Added help tooltips to the checkboxes and drop-down-menus in the Settings->Miscellaneous section.
  • When using the Live Time Shift function in the Time Zone Calculator, the dimming effect will now also be updated correctly

New in Sharp World Clock 5.53 (Feb 16, 2012)

  • Bug fixes: when the clock resumes from hibernation (power-down state), it searches for missed alarms after being woken up now, so especially alarms with no specific time will go off correctly when the computer is not shut down, but only put to sleeping mode overnight.
  • Selecting a design preset will not overwrite the "Anchor Mode" anymore, so a clock used as an anchor does not have to be set up again, after a different design preset has been selected.
  • The tool tips on the clocks stay for 10 seconds now, not just 5.
  • Activation now works through a proxy server (using the settings from Internet Explorer).
  • Some minor design improvements and code optimizations.

New in Sharp World Clock 5.52 (Feb 6, 2012)

  • Edit dialog icon is not showed in the taskbar anymore.

New in Sharp World Clock 5.45 (Dec 23, 2011)

  • Changed weather report display: night symbols are now only showed for the current day (if target city has night time), not for all days of the forecast. The office hours are now displayed in the mouse-over tooltip, when the "Out-of-Office Shadow" function is activated. The "24 Hours" checkbox in the settings dialog and the checkbox with the same name in the city edit dialog now operate on the same function (in previous versions the checkbox in the city edit dialog only worked on the clock time format, while the checkbox in the settings dialog was operating on the displayed time in the additional functions only).
