What's new in SimLab Composer (Animation Edition) 2014 SP2
Dec 23, 2014- In addition to fixing small issues, the new release updates importers to make sure SimLab Composer can be used with the latest 3D design applications.
- Supporting SolidWorks 2014:
- SolidWorks importer in SimLab Composer 2014 SP2 was updated to support SolidWorks parts and assemblies (2007 - 2014)
- New IFC importer:
- Architects will be able to utilize the new IFC importer to bring 3D models to SimLab Composer for sharing and rendering.
- Supporting IE 11:
- With the release of internet explorer 11, Microsoft added native WebGL support to the browser. WebGL export from SimLab Composer 2014 SP2 now supports viewing 3D models in IE 11. All major browsers are now supported (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and IE11)
- New / Parasolid importer:
- New importer for Parasolid files was added to the new version of SimLab Composer 2014 SP2

- New: 64 bit support to handle very large and complex models
- New: 3D HTML export, which can be opened natively in Chrome, Firefox Internet explorer and Safari
- New: Template designer, enabling users to create templates that can be used to export customized 3D HTML and 3D PDF files
- New: Analytical picking modes, providing users with precise picking that makes creating animations easier
- New: Indigo renderer support, for rendering interiors with complex lighting
- Enhanced: 3D PDF Export, utilizing the new templates, and optimized to provide smaller and more responsive files
- Enhanced: Camera navigation, introducing new Parallel Camera type, and adding spin navigation mode
- Enhanced: Import/Export capabilities, upgrading importers to the latest versions of CAD applications, and adding new DWF/DWFx import and export capabilities.
