SoundBridge Changelog
What's new in SoundBridge 2.3.1
Nov 30, 2023- NEW FEATURES:
- There is now a “Discard Last Partial Take” switch. When enabled, recordings that do not fill the entire loop duration are discarded.
- We added a Validate button to check if you got a license while using SoundBridge and activate the unlimited version without restarting the app.
- CHANGES:
- We improved the way controls are categorized in Preferences and added more tabs.
- We reduced the example project’s file size.
- As per OS, default file systems are now added to all custom DIR folders in the file browser.
- The horizontal zoom of the sequencer is now saved with the project.
- BUG FIXES:
- Some 32-bit float audio files caused issues in SoundBridge.
- While recording MIDI in a loop, only MIDI notes recorded in the current revolution being recorded played back—other notes from previous revolutions in the loop didn't play back until after the recording was stopped.
- Improved MIDI file compatibility.
- Moving merged blocks between stereo and mono tracks doesn't bounce the blocks. They remain merged blocks on their destination track.
- There were some graphical issues while scrolling through return tracks in the sequencer.
New in SoundBridge 2.2.3 Beta (Apr 19, 2023)
- NEW FEATURES:
- There is now a search bar in the Instrument dialog of the Add Track menu for MIDI tracks.
- CHANGES:
- A stack of two autosave files is now available for each project for improved safety in case one of the autosave files gets corrupted.
- The options in the transport bar are now centered on high-resolution monitors.
- Internal audio from VST instruments is now constantly monitored on the output.
- The positions of all plugin GUI on the screen are now saved in the project file.
- The Show Plugin button in the insert rack is now always highlighted when the GUI of the respective plugin is open.
- The Lite tempo stretch algorithm was removed from SoundBridge.
- BUG FIXES:
- The Restore Widgets to Default button in the Options menu did not reset the widgets’ active/hidden state.
- Dead Duck Software VSTs are now more compatible with SoundBridge.
- If SoundBridge was opened on a secondary monitor, the GUI of built-in FX sometimes opened on the primary monitor rather than the screen where SoundBridge was opened.
- We improved GUI scaling on multi-monitor computers with different DPIs per monitor.
- The mixer did not focus on a newly created track if it was created by dropping an audio file into the sequencer.
- We improved audio tempo synchronization during playback across tempo ramp automations.
- MIDI Out routing for some channels was fixed.
- There used to be Read and Write access problems when projects transferred from Windows computers to Mac were opened.
- Audio samples were not correctly represented graphically after being copied and pasted on tracks having Tempo Stretch disabled.
- In some rare cases, users still needed to log in to SoundBridge every time they opened the app, even when the Remember Me checkbox was checked.
- We added compensation for a 50 ms duration trim that sometimes happened when exporting in the MP3 format.
- Sometimes when a project with some specific VSTs was opened, the Missing VST dialog popped up, even though the VSTs had been previously scanned.
- The audio input for tracks that received audio from a VST instrument was incorrectly represented graphically as None when a project was loaded.
New in SoundBridge 2.2.2 Beta (Feb 24, 2023)
- NEW FEATURES:
- VST plugins with MIDI outputs can now be loaded onto the insert rack of MIDI channels as MIDI FX.
- CHANGES:
- While recording over underlying audio, the overlapping recording no longer replaces the audio. By default, the audio is added to the Block Z-order dialogue.
- If you prefer to overwrite the audio, you can set it in Preferences via the “Recording Overwrites Audio” option.
- The text color on the Instrument Drop pad and MIDI FX drop pad changes when you hover a VST plugin over them.
- BUG FIXES:
- Reversing an audio sample no longer switches its left and right stereo channels in some circumstances.
- When you opened a project with missing VST plugins, there was a crash if you tried to close SoundBridge before closing the Missing Plugins dialog.
- Copying a VST instrument from one track to another that already contained an instrument replaced the destination track’s instrument without warning.
- If a disabled plugin instance was copied and pasted to another track, it automatically got enabled on the destination track.
- When using multiple screens, all dialog windows and plugin GUIs now open on the screen where the main SoundBridge window is.
