New in Speedify 6.0 (Mar 27, 2018)

  • Rate Limits on Data Caps:
  • The Daily and Monthly data caps on adapters now support setting a rate limit of 200 Kbps when you’ve exceeded the cap. This is really useful, to help you avoid using too much cellular, so by default if (on mobile) you use more than 200Mbps of cellular in a day, it will slow you to 200 Kbps on cellular to protect you. You can change this at any time by going into your cellular adapter and changing the limits.
  • Reconnect Improvements:
  • The connect and reconnect logic is now more resilient, a result of countless hours spent testing on trains and in tunnels.
  • Improved Bonding Performance:
  • Speedify does a better job ensuring that a single poorly performing internet connection can not drag down the performance of your faster connections.

New in Speedify 5.9.0 Build 5132 (Mar 15, 2018)

  • Built-In Speed Test: Try out our new integrated speed test, to measure latency, upload and download speeds over all of your connections independently, and then together over the bonded VPN.

New in Speedify 5.6.0 Build 4865 (Nov 23, 2017)

  • Rate Limiting: In the connection’s settings there is now an optional Rate Limit. When set this will prevent the connection from going faster on average than the speed you select. Why would you want to slow down your internet? Most people won’t want to, of course, but if you are trying to not use too much of an expensive cellular or satellite connection, then this could be a real money saver.
  • Performance Improvements:
  • Reduces the amount of latency that Speedify introduces into the network and over the Speedify tunnel.
  • User Interface Improvements:
  • Improved color palette on connections to avoid hard to read combinations. On the Desktop versions, when you only have one connection, a new faux connection called “Add Connection” appears which when clicked on offers guidance on how to set up new internet connections.

New in Speedify 5.4 (Oct 26, 2017)

  • Dead Hotspot Protection: Dead hotspot protection has now come to Android (5.0 and above), so it’s available on all operating systems. If you’re on a “dead” Wi-Fi hotspot that stops your apps from reaching the internet, Speedify can use your cellular or other connections to reach the internet and connect anyways. You will never have to switch off your Wi-Fi again.
  • Snappier User Interface: The user interface is much more responsive, with faster framerates, smoother animations and quicker reactions.
  • Port Forwarding for Teams accounts: Our most requested feature for enterprise users has arrived: Speedify for Teams users can now have certain UDP and TCP ports on a dedicated server forwarded to clients. Available via the user interface and the command line.
  • Android TV Support: Speedify now works on Android TV devices. You can control the Speedify user interface via your remote control, and your streaming apps will go through the Speedify VPN.
  • Cool little improvements: Free 7 day trials on Android. Better icons in the menu bar for macOS. Reduced CPU usage per packet for better performance on fast connections.

New in Speedify 4.0.4.3297 (Oct 11, 2016)

  • Even faster speeds, with lower CPU usage and better battery life for mobile devices.
  • Graphs for both real time, and historic usage
  • Full support for IPv6
  • Streamlined getting started experience. No need to create an account or anything like that to get going, no unnecessary permissions for the mobile app. You can be connected within 30 seconds of installing.
  • A new mode for mobile users: Redundant Mode. This was our most frequently requested feature. Especially by reporters! When activated, your data is sent on both Wi-Fi and Cellular. So important VoIP calls, and live video streaming events don’t get interrupted, no matter what.
  • More servers in more countries so we’re just “around the corner” for you, as Speedify is used all over the world

New in Speedify 3.8.0.2851 (Jul 1, 2016)

  • Speedify 3.8 includes a number of fixes and improvements so that there’s less CPU processing per packet, leading to faster speeds, and less power usage. There’s also improved handling for failover, so Speedify works even better with unreliable internet connections.

New in Speedify 3.2.0.2337 (Feb 8, 2016)

  • Faster Speeds: Speedify now uses much less CPU which means that maximum speeds are much higher (often in the 70-90 Mbps range, depending on your Internet connections and distance to Speed Server).
  • Better Server Selection: Speedify now asks the operating system for the user location, giving a faster and more accurate result than using IP addresses. Your operating system may ask you whether to allow Speedify to see your location, say yes, and you will get faster connect times. This location information is not sent back to us. See our privacy policy for more information: http://speedify.com/privacy-policy/
  • User Interface Improvements: Many fixes and improvements throughout the user interface. Most notably, the user interface is now completely resizable. The OS X menu bar has been rearranged for clarity. Adapters that are no longer connected can be completely removed from the Adapters setting screen (useful if you once used a device, but no longer have it).
  • New Data Limits on Adapters: The feature formerly known as “Usage Limits” is now “Data Limits”. Adapters can now be given both daily and monthly Data Limits. This is very useful to stop you from accidentally using a whole month’s worth of data in just a day or two. All Data Limits now notify you when you hit the 75% level, and offers raising the limit if you don’t want to get cut off at the limit.
  • User Management: You can now create accounts, reset your password, and change passwords from right in the app.

  • Each user has their own isolated software container on the Speed Server. This has a number of benefits, including improved security, stability and fairness.
  • More responsive user interface.
  • The Getting Started Guide is now shown across the bottom of the user interface, and works on Mac as well as Windows.

  • Will display a “FIXED” indicator on a connection where Speedify is able to recover lost packets.

New in Speedify 2.4.0.34463 (Mar 7, 2015)

  • New Modes: Speed vs Redundant. At the top of the main screen, you can select whether Speedify should optimize for speed/throughput or redundancy/reliability/latency:
  • Speed Mode: This is the default choice, and attempts to use all of your Internet connections in parallel. By spreading your data among them it offers the highest possible speeds.
  • Redundant Mode: This new mode attempts to send all of your data over all of your available Internet connections for maximum reliability, and consistency. You can disconnect one of your Internet connections and not lose a single packet. You are likely to see lower average latencies, as whichever packet makes it through first is the one that will be delivered. This mode has been requested by many people who are either into online gaming or financial trading over the Internet.
  • Support for Peer-to-Peer (BitTorrent): We now have servers in the Netherlands and Isle of Man which allow the use of torrenting software. To use them, select Servers from the Menu. Choose a server which says “P2P OK” and then click the Connect button next to it. You can also turn off Best Server Selection, and set the P2P server to be your Home.
  • Significant performance improvements in a wide range of scenarios
  • Speedify automatically detects when a connection is too slow to improve the bonding speed and uses it as a redundant connection
  • Improved failover performance when a connection is lost
  • Speedify only speed tests each connection once, instead of re-testing all connections each time a new connection is added
  • Better error handling when opening the Speedify virtual adapter on OSX. Fixes the ‘Speedify adapter is not installed’ problem on OSX.
  • User Interface Improvements. There a number of subtle improvements to the user interface. These include,
  • Putting the “Connect at Startup” on the sign-in screen,
  • Server list now allows you to connect when logged out without a saved password,
  • Better tooltips
  • Consolidated some settings into Configuration Settings,
  • Added yellow icon next to adapters that are speed testing
