What's new in Spiceworks Desktop 7.5.00107
Mar 21, 2018
- This is a small patch to resolve an issue some users were experiencing after updating to the 7.5.00104 build. The bug only affected 7.5.00104, preventing app backups from succeeding if ticket/device attachment filenames contained certain characters.
- We released a fix for this individual bug because of the potential for backups to fail silently when running 7.5.00104.

- Read this on why there have been fewer releases recently for the Desktop app. At the same time, here are a few additional examples of our ongoing work, updates to Desktop app infrastructure, and improvements we’re working on for 8.0 (improving asset inventory accuracy, helpdesk feature set).
- In this patch we struck a balance between the amount of effort we want to use on patching and the effort put into new features/8.0. This explains why some bugs in 7.5 (that we do want to fix later) are not a part of this patch, such as the bugs we fixed in 8.0 that we aren’t able to back-port to 7.5 and other bugs in 7.5 that are high value but are not ready yet.
