What's new in Pulse 0.6.7.3
Sep 9, 2015- Updates:
- Feature: New option allows you to disable wallpaper changing when a full screen application is running. This way Pulse doesn't slow down/lag your videos and games.
- Fix: Some users were getting Wallbase errors when logging in. This has been fixed.
- Feature: Right click a provider and you can now make a copy of it by selecting the "Duplicate" option. This is great for if you want to setup multiple authenticated wallbase searches with only slightly different parameters.
- Feature: You can now change a providers label by clicking it. This lets you keep track of all those copies you are making with the new Duplicate feature.
- Feature: You can now change your Cache folder location through the options screen. This was configurable before only by hand editing the settings file. You should restart Pulse if you use this option.
- Fix: Pulse was not detecting an images file extension from it's download URL in rare circumstances. This has been fixed.
- Workaround: Google changed the way they do Safe Search. This option still appears but it doesn't do anything anymore. This is to workaround the error users were getting when they tried to change this setting
New in Pulse 0.6.6.0 (Jan 18, 2013)
- Fixes included in 0.6.5.0 (of course), which fixes a bug in Wallbase.cc Random, along with fixing an issue where Pulse would not load it's settings file if it was started on Windows startup
- Pulse Host window now longer shows in Alt+Tab window
- Cached searches now expire. This was essential for things like Wallbase.cc Toplist/Random, along with Picture of the Day type searches which wouldn't update if you didn't restart Pulse
- Two check boxes on the options screen were not causing the Apply button to activate, this has been fixed
- New option on the options screen, you can now use the UI to modify the max picture search result count (the maximum number of pictures returned by a search)
- Searching/changing wallpapers when there is no available internet connection no longer causes an error in general, and specifically not for Wallbase.cc. Not all providers have been tested.
- Aero Glass Color output provider now uses a longer gradient step, this makes for a smoother color transition of your aero colors.
New in Pulse 1.0.0.0 Beta 5 (Aug 24, 2012)
- What's new in this release? Well to start with we now have Wallbase.cc Authentication! so you can access favorites or NSFW. This version requires .NET 4.0, you probably already have it, but if you don't it's a free and easy download from Microsoft.
- Pulse can bet set to start on Windows startup now too.
- The Wallpaper setter has settings now, so you can change the background color of the desktop and the Picture Position (Tile/Center/Fill/etc...)
- I've switched to Windows Forms instead of WPF because I am slowly working on Mac OSX compatability.
