Drag & drop can now be used to easily create new root folders or to upload content to existing folders.
  • We’ve also enhanced the new file transfer status screen, by adding the ability to search for specific files that are in the upload or download queue. Simply type in a file name and matching results will be filtered for your easy access.

If more than 10% your storage quota is occupied by deleted items you will see a notification at the bottom of the client informing you of how much storage is occupied by deleted items and how to reclaim that storage. At any time you can click on the storage meter and see the split.

  • Growl fixes (Mac OS). SugarSync will no longer install Growl but alerts will still show on Lion and Snow Leopard (even if Growl is not installed). Leopard users still need to install Growl to see alerts.
  • Bug fixes. In addition to performance improvement, an issue that caused the SugarSync icon to be unavailable in the Menu bar has been resolved. Also, customers can now move or rename folders without causing sub-folders to stop syncing.

New in SugarSync 1.9.42.18085 (Jan 14, 2012)

  • Protection against deletion of data synced from unsupported drives. Changes in this release prevent the deletion of data synced from unsupported drives, including external, removable, and encrypted drives. If a drive is unavailable when SugarSync launches, folders synced from that drive will now become disconnected. To sync this data, you can simply reconnect the folder to a location on your internal drive. Note that data in disconnected folders is completely safe in the cloud, and therefore counts against your quota.
  • If you remove or disconnect a drive while SugarSync is running, your data will remain in the cloud, but you won't be able to make changes to it, nor will you be able to sync it.

  • Shared folder notifications are designed to enhace collaboration between members of shared folders. When a file in a shared folder is edited, or when files are added or removed from a shared folder, all folder members are alerted.
  • Customers who experienced an issue where SugarSync consumed excessive bandwidth (no matter what Upload Speed setting was selected) should see an immediate improvement upon installation of 1.9.41.
  • If SugarSync detects that an identical serial number is associated with more than one internal drive in a customer's computer, a warning message will display, informing the customer that he or she should change the ID of the secondary drive.

  • Designed to prevent accidental deletions, in SugarSync Manager you'll only be able to delete files and folders stored in the Magic Briefcase, Web Archive, and Mobile Photos folder. Instead, to delete a file or folder you'll move the data to the Recycle Bin or Trash on your computer. You can use the SugarSync Website or a mobile app to delete data, the same as always. Just like before, if you delete a file from a synced folder, it's deleted from all computers syncing the data.
