New in Syncdocs 2.24 (Mar 5, 2012)

  • When you right click on a file or folder to share it in Google Docs using explorer, the sharing URL and short URL stopped working. This release has a fix for the new-style Google sharing URL.
  • Fix for when the Syncdocs folder on UNC path is no longer available at startup, fewer error messages shown, easier to fix.

  • Improved handling on non printable characters in file and folder names.
  • Fixed a bug to bypass unnecessary deletions and the re-syncs caused by the way certain applications save temporary files. This affects Adobe Illustrator, MYOB, Netbeans and Autodesk users.
  • Selective Sync now bypasses Google xml errors for certain collection names, and shows these names, removes duplicates.
  • Faster handling of updates to existing files and folders, especially when the user has no permission on Google to commit the update.

  • Google server now adds http redirect for music files on Docs. Partial fix for mp3 playlists generation, playlists not work with all audio players yet, though.

  • Bug details:
  • If user A shares files or collections to user B with shared permissions "can edit" but not "owner".
  • User B then deletes one of these items locally, Syncdocs shows the following error message when syncing:
  • "Google Doc List Incorrect Possible Google Doc List Server error detected."
  • This bug is now fixed. Deleting items that have been shared with you as "can edit" removes them from your Google Docs List. The original owner keeps their copy, you cannot delete files you do not own.
  • Some other minor cosmetic items are also changed:
  • - left clicking on the taskbar icon is the same as right clicking
  • - double clicking on the taskbar icon can show either your local Docs folder or Syncdocs status, depending on your preferences.
