What's new in Tekla BIMsight 1.8.1

  • Some IFC models created with Autodesk Revit contain unconventional code in the IFC file header. This prevented model import in Tekla BIMsight version 1.8. Those models can be now imported to Tekla BIMsight 1.8.1.

  • Major new functionality:
  • You can now share projects and collaborate more effectively with other project members. For more information, see Sharing projects.

  • Tekla BIMsight now supports grids.

New in Tekla BIMsight 1.7.1 (Oct 30, 2013)

  • General:
  • Previously, if you dragged the mouse while holding down Ctrl or Shift, you could not use the mouse to navigate in the model view anymore. This has now been fixed.
  • Touch control related:
  • Previously, you needed to touch the screen twice after selecting Marker to draw redlining. Now redlining appears correctly on the first touch.
  • Previously, if you drew redlining and switched to a saved view when Marker was still active, the redlining appeared in the saved view. This has now been fixed.
  • SMART Board related:
  • Previously, there was an application error when you tried to remove a saved view on SMART Board. This has now been fixed.
  • Previously, if you first drew redlining with finger and then changed the color and started to draw with pen, the color stayed red. This has now been fixed.

  • Major new functionality:
  • You can now use special SMART Board features, such as colored pens and eraser, with redlining.
  • You can use touch controls on SMART Board to use Tekla BIMsight.

  • Usability enhancements:
  • You can now start drawing redlining also on an empty space without setting the drawing plane to an object surface or a clip plane. In this case the drawing plane is perpendicular to the view.

  • Usability enhancements:
  • Tekla BIMsight now automatically saves your project at regular intervals.
  • You can now move multiple clip planes at once on devices supporting multi-touch controls.
  • Improvements in drawing redlining:
  • You can now draw redlining on clip planes.
  • Appearance of redlining is now smoother.
  • Selecting objects using area selection is now much faster.
  • Miscellaneous enhancements:
  • Reinforcements are now shown correctly with shadings when their color is changed.

  • Major new functionality:
  • You can now set a default model folder for your project. Use the default model folder for adding and updating multiple models at once.
  • Convert your project to version 1.6 by opening the project. Then you can set your default model folder.
  • You can now add multiple models at once from the default model folder.
  • You can now update multiple models at once by refreshing.
  • Usability enhancements:
  • The creator of the project can now remove notes added by other users.
  • Changes in the user interface :
  • The solid / x-ray mode button has been removed. You can change the transparency of all models by dragging the transparency slider.

  • A defect caused an application error when a conflict status was changed. This has now been fixed.

New in Tekla BIMsight 1.5.1 (Oct 30, 2013)

  • Usability enhancements:
  • You can now change the degree of transparency in the x-ray mode.
  • Previously, object’s default color was depicted as light gray in a color symbol. Now, color symbols show the real color also for the objects with default coloring.
  • Color symbols now indicate whether the user has changed the color in Tekla BIMsight or not.
  • Changes in the user interface:
  • You can now switch to a full-screen mode by clicking at the top right of the workspace.
  • You can view object-related notes, documents and conflicts more easily as they are now shown at top of the list on the object information tab.
  • You can now quickly minimize and restore side and bottom panes by clicking a pane’s handle.
  • Miscellaneous enhancements:
  • Reinforcements imported from Tekla Structures as extrusion elements are now shown correctly in the x-ray mode.
  • Support for IFC files exported from Autodesk Revit has been improved.
  • Support for DWG models has been improved.
