New in Tembria Server Monitor 6.0.0 (Oct 27, 2010)

  • A new dashboard element allows you to draw network diagrams with indicators showing the status of your devices. The built-in editor can be used to show maps with pushpin indicators and you can click on the pushpins to navigate to devices or other dashboards. Also included are tools to help you illustrate server room floor plans and rackmount cabinets so that you can build an accurate and familiar representation of your network resources. We will soon be posting videos showing examples of the types of diagrams you can build. This functionality is currently only available on Firefox 3.6 or later. When Internet Explorer 9 is released later this yearit will support HTML5 allowing it to show diagrams as well. For now see our blog posting about network diagramming for examples of what you can do.
  • The notifications section has been redesigned. It now only shows the actions that you have selected so the notifications section takes up less space. You can now apply filters to each notification action which allow you to control which notifications are used during which times of the day and week. You can use the same filters to implement escalation of notifications based on the error count.
  • The actions menu has been replaced with toolbar buttons throughout the interface, reducing the number of clicks required for common operations.
  • The row of green dropdown arrows that used to appear in device and event lists has been removed. Now when you select items using the checkboxes, a menu appears at the top allowing you to apply actions to multiple selected items.
  • A new report engine adds CPU, disk, memory and bandwidth reports.
  • Reports can now be e-mailed to one or more recipients after they are built.
  • E-mail notification templates can now be managed and editing inside the user interface using a new option in the settings and preferences.
