New in TextPlay 1.5.4 (Feb 2, 2013)
- If the application is in a trial mode, a message may appear when the user starts it up, indicating that a trial period has ended.
New in TextPlay 1.5.2 (Feb 2, 2013)
- The application is code-signed.
- The user can check and see if there are software updates by choosing Help > Check Software Updates.
New in TextPlay 1.1.5 Beta (Dec 23, 2011)
- The application did not read user-defined values correctly when such special characters as quote, double quote, ampersand, were involved.
- Preferences: The text box under the System tab points to the system folder used by the application instead of a file.
New in TextPlay 1.1.3 Beta (Dec 23, 2011)
- Some windows will appear and disappear gradually.
- The startup screen is disabled as it can cause an exception error.
New in TextPlay 1.1.1 Beta (Nov 24, 2011)
- Preferences: When the user closes the Preferences window, the application will automatically read changes, which will be instantly reflected.
- Setup installer's build architecture was incorrectly set as x86 (32-bit) for Windows 7. It shouldn't have causes a major problem though it's possible that the application showed wrong shortcut key like Ctrl + Ctrl + X as opposed to Ctrl + X.

- The user can no longer maximize the window.
- A new item (Alternate colors) is added to the drop-down menu.
- The Edit commands can be used on the bottom text area box as well.
- The Preferences window is update with a tab menu and a menu bar.
- Some other minor changes and fixes are done.
