What's new in The Levelator 2.1.1

- If an .mp4 file was submited it was reported as an .mp3 file. (Neither are accepted by The Levelator.)
- Attempts to Levelate compressed files (ie, other than WAV, AIFF, etc.) are now detected and reported in a more friendly manner.
- If the source file can't be opened (eg, due to a permissions problem) a better error message is displayed.
- "New Version" alerts are now displayed even for minor updates if specified on our servers.
New in The Levelator 2.0.3 (Jul 25, 2019)
- A number of improvements have been made to The Levelator's algorithms based on sample audio files submitted by users. Most notably is a reduction in certain unnatural volume adjustments.
- You can now drag/drop and audio file onto the application icon in the OS X Dock.
- The Levelator now verifies that it has sufficient disk space for temporary and output files before processing the source file.
- ctrl-o/cmd-o (Open File...) now works after alt-tab has been used to switch applications.
- The .ini (settings) file is now deleted during installation in order to properly refresh the 'news' timestamp. (Fixed in Windows version only.)
- The formatting of error reports has been improved.
- Log files are now unique on a per-user basis.
- libsndfile has been updated to version 1.0.21 which has fixed the following:
- 24-bit files are now properly supported.
- Soundtrack Pro 2 .aiff files are now supported.
- Adobe Soundbooth files are now supported.
- Unicode filenames are now supported.
- Very short source files are now supported.
New in The Levelator 1.4.1 (Jul 25, 2019)
- When the app is (re)installed, it clears its cache of the new "phone home" message.
- If you right-click on an audio file, Send to... allows you to start The Levelator. No longer does this leave an additional instance of the application running each time.
- The Levelator appears in the Windows task bar. (Windows only)
- The Levelator is included in the Alt-Tab display of running applications.
- Error messages no longer include cryptic characters such as "n".
New in The Levelator 1.4.0 (Jul 25, 2019)
- Now accepts filenames containing spaces.
- Now processes very short audio files.
- Accessibility for visually-impaired users:
- Right-click on a source audio file, select "Send To" from the menu, then "CN Levelator".
- Windows installer now includes MSVCP71.dll, which previously had to be downloaded by some users.
- New desktop icon shows up better against blue screen backgrounds.
- Killing the UI thread now terminates the entire application.
- Added link to documentation of supported file formats.
- The Levelator "phones home" at startup to The Conversations Network (a) to check for new versions (as in the past) and (b) to check for infrequent promotional messages.
- The license agreement has been updated to include a description of the phone-home behavior.
