Toastify Changelog

What's new in Toastify 1.8.3

Mar 11, 2016
  • BUG: Toastify was no longer minimizing Spotify on startup (when the setting was set)
  • Exception handling cleanup

New in Toastify 1.8.2 (Mar 10, 2016)

  • Fixed crash when clicking on toast (that should show Spotify)

New in Toastify 1.8.0 (Mar 10, 2016)

  • Toastify now loads album art again
  • Toastify no longer causes Spotify to consume copious amounts of system resources (Spotify readded the current playing song to the title). We lose full control of Spotify, such as thumbs up / down
  • Added setting to allow you to keep your computer awake while Spotify is playing music
  • We have started collecting anonymous usage stats - opt out in Settings.

New in Toastify 1.7.8 (Aug 27, 2015)

  • Fixed toast stealing focus
  • Fixed version constantly bugging to update

New in Toastify 1.7.7 (Aug 13, 2015)

  • Fixed incorrect binaries pushed in 1.7.6 which caused the toasts to disappear on some devices

New in Toastify 1.7.6 (Aug 11, 2015)

  • Support for extracting Artist / Song from the latest version of Spotify
  • Fixed empty toast during launch
  • Fixed fps drop (in at least one case)

New in Toastify 1.7.5 (Mar 24, 2015)

  • Experimental hotkeys for thumbs up and thumbs down (fixes a long standing request, #11693)
  • 13363 - use regular - instead of Unicode dash for "artist - title" to help with some older bits of ASCII only software

New in Toastify 1.7.4 (Mar 23, 2015)

  • Added a setting to minimize Spotify on launch
  • Feature Request 13516: Save current track to file (useful for scenarios such as piping the current playing track to Open Broadcaster Software etc.)
  • Installer will now terminate any lingering ChromeDriver processes

New in Toastify 1.7.3 (Mar 23, 2015)

  • Remove warning that hotkeys without a modifier are invalid (since they were, in fact, valid). Tracked under issue #13510
  • More robust killing of Spotify (cleanly and eventually forcefully) when exiting Toastify
  • Avoid potential for duplicate hotkey entries in the Settings list

New in Toastify 1.7.2 (Mar 23, 2015)

  • Corrected version (bug #13508)
  • Added support for Win key in hotkeys

New in Toastify 1.7.1 (Mar 23, 2015)

  • Support for Spotify v1
  • This support is much more invasive than previous versions due to changes made by Spotify (primarily the removal of the Artist / Track from the title bar). It has some benefits, but also comes with some down sides (we must restart Spotify when launching Toastify). There will also be bugs
  • Support for Toast positioning on high-DPI screens, you may need to re-position your Toasts

New in Toastify 1.7.0 (Dec 2, 2014)

  • Added Fast Forward and Rewind hotkeys. These aren't the most repeatable since Spotify doesn't have direct support for this, but you should be able to scrub around slightly.

New in Toastify 1.6.9 (Sep 13, 2014)

  • WI 13235 - thanks to some undocumented API goodness we now have high quality album art, sans little Spotify icon!
  • Bug 13208 - Added some extra code to try to force the Toast window to stay on top, looking for feedback to see if this works otherwise we'll have to look into more drastic measures.
  • WI 13228 - Tweaks to the paste code to increase reliability of the "paste current song" hotkey

New in Toastify 1.6.8 (Sep 13, 2014)

  • WI 13228: Add a "Paste Current Track" hotkey (similar to the existing "copy" hotkey but Toastify will attempt to paste the text into the current application as well
  • Made the clipboard template in Settings more resilient to empty templates and templates without the {0} replacement marker
  • WI 13229: The installer will now kill Toastify before starting to avoid the cryptic file write error when upgrading Toastify without exiting first

New in Toastify 1.6.7 (Aug 28, 2014)

  • The toast is now draggable! Hold down the Control key and drag the toast around to permanently reposition it. Note that the toast will default to the lower corner above the system time if it is positioned off screen (or on the boundary between screens)
  • Clicking once on the tray icon will show the toast (double clicking as well, though this also brings up settings)

New in Toastify 1.6.6 (Aug 9, 2014)

  • WI 13151 - add option to suppress the "launch Spotify?" dialog
  • recompile so that hopefully Toastify is no longer marked as a generic trojan by Kasperspky

New in Toastify 1.6.5 (Jul 17, 2014)

  • Handled a bunch of edge cases in the Spotify album art retriever so you should be seeing more album art!
  • 2027 & 13139: There is now an option to control only Spotify's volume through the hotkeys. This doesn't change the volume in the client (Spotify doesn't support that) but it will change the Windows Audio Mixer volume for Spotify, achieving a similar result. By default this is off to avoid potential confusion from users who are adjusting the volume of Spotify through Toastify and the client/system and don't know about the mixer.

New in Toastify 1.6.3 (Jun 13, 2014)

  • Better usage of the Spotify search API for album art loading resulting in much faster album loading and fixes Bug #13081 (Incorrect album art)

  • Long Song / Artist names now cutoff with ... (Issue 13056)

  • Album art now downloads directly from Spotify
  • Settings window is now single instance and can be opened by double clicking the Toastify icon
  • default toast template has now changed to match the Spotify redesign. You won't see this if you have an existing config though
  • Support the F10 (and other System) key as a shortcut key

New in Toastify 1.6 (Apr 30, 2013)
