  • Performance Improvements:
  • We’ve made a major restructuring of the backend of the application which has made the app even faster. Our product team is constantly working on smashing the small bugs and making the app work slick πŸ™Œ
  • Copy - Pasting Issue:
  • There used to be an issue with copy pasting the objects last week. We’re happy to let you know that it’s fixed now!
  • In the meanwhile, you’re most welcome to join our Facebook Vectr Community! We regularly post useful information and inspirational projects there.
  • We really hope designing with Vectr is easy and fun for you!

New in Vectr 0.1.15 (Apr 28, 2017)

  • Bug Fixes And Improvements:
  • Several fixes to importing external SVGs: now SVGs import even more smoothly, we are working hard making our engine work better and better.
  • Various improvements to pen tool performance and path improvements.
  • Fixed an issue with deleted files re-appearing after being deleted - no more living dead

New in Vectr 0.1.9 Beta (Jun 27, 2016)

  • There’s a ton to talk about in this version – 9 enhancements in features and functions, to be exact. As always, performance optimization is our core emphasis, so you should notice faster time being made in your design process. Let’s get to it then.
  • Try Vectr without registering. Registering to try something new is like filling out a liability waiver before joining the hot dog eating competition – no fun! You just want to jump into the good stuff ASAP.
  • Jump into it:
  • That’s why we’ve forgone the required registration before using Vectr for the first time. New users can try Vectr without creating an account! You’ll be able to use all the awesome features right away, but an account is still needed to save your files. Now you can share Vectr with your friends, family, and unicorns without needing them to fill anything out. There’s nothing stopping them from trying your favorite free vector graphic editor – no excuses!
  • Add points in path editing. The version 0.18 update included seamless path editing as well as the ability to rotate control points, and we promised more editing options. Well, in this update, you can add more points to your path! With the additional points, your designs can look smoother and better than ever. To do this, double-click on a path to enter editing mode. A preview of a control point will appear when you hover over the path. Click the preview to add a control point on your desired location. Your designs will be on point.
  • Adding control points in path editing:
  • Layer setting options. Many users have asked for more layer setting options, specifically the ability to set an object’s dimensions (width and height), position (x- and y-axis), and degree of rotation. It’s here! You can find these options under the Layers tab in the editor.
  • Vectr layer setting options example:
  • Since you all asked for it, we wanted to ship it as quickly as possible. It’s far from perfect and needs drastic improvements, so bear with us. In the meantime, test it out and let us know what you think. The best way to give us feedback, besides emailing us, is to join our Beta Tester Facebook Group (send us a request to join).
  • New file created when editing other user’s files. Any changes you make to another user’s file will be saved as a temporary file. A notification will appear at the bottom of the workspace. Click the notification to save the temporary file into your dashboard.
  • Vectr notification for temporary file:
  • High-resolution image appears instantly after uploading. Prior to this update, whenever you uploaded an image a low-resolution preview would appear while waiting for the high-resolution image to load. The need for speed was real. In this latest version, however, you no longer have to wait for an uploaded image to finish processing before a high-resolution image appears.
  • Shadow appears even when background is disabled. Previously, whenever the background filter was disabled, the shadow filter would be disabled as well. This is fixed now! Go ahead and add a shadow filter without a background filter – you won’t experience any problems with it
  • Gradient appears even when shadow is enabled. Some users found that the gradient filter would be disabled whenever the shadow filter was applied. This issue was fixed so that now both the gradient and shadow filters can co-exist with one another.
  • Text aligns with objects in Firefox. An issue that occurred when exporting files on Firefox was that the text and objects wouldn’t be aligned. This is no longer a problem – feel free to export your designs with images and text on Firefox.
  • Gradient opacity works in Safari. The gradient opacity slider option wasn’t working in Safari before – this has been fixed. Have fun sliding the opacity of your designs in Safari! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
