TrueConf Server Changelog

What's new in TrueConf Server 5.2.7.10218

Mar 9, 2023
  • Added:
  • An SIP number can now be displayed in the user profile; the call to this number in a client application will be made with the #sip: prefix.
  • Ability to limit the number of guest connections for a specific public conference (the limit can be set when creating or editing the conference).
  • Ability to export all users registered on the server or a selected user group to a .csv file that can be later used for importing contacts to the address book of TrueConf Group.
  • Conference participation from Google Chrome on iOS/iPadOS version 14 or above.
  • A new menu option for editing the participant’s display name in the layout was added in the real-time meeting management section.
  • Changed:
  • An active one-on-one call with an SIP endpoint is no longer disrupted when it is escalated to a group conference, e.g., when a new participant is added to the meeting. Previously, the call was automatically ended, and a new call was made to the SIP endpoint.
  • Optimized processing of user authorization requests when running the server in integration with Active Directory.
  • The moderators, who join a smart meeting from the web application, are now able to pin participants in the layout (the corresponding icon button is displayed in the right part of the participant’s video window).
  • Some improvements in the UI of the real-time meeting management section.
  • Fixed:
  • Sometimes unable to sign in as a user from a trusted domain when running the server in LDAP mode if the value of the flatName attribute was different from the domain name.
  • Occasional freezing of the incoming video stream when making SIP calls from TrueConf client applications to an endpoint or an MCU.
  • An empty web page could be displayed when tapping on a conference URL in the chat in TrueConf for iOS/iPadOS.
  • If the trunk with an Asterisk PBX was set up and TrueConf Group endpoint was registered on the server, it was impossible to call a user of this PBX from the endpoint.
  • Microsoft Outlook 365 could not process the .ics file in the conference invitation email.
  • Changes in the user group settings did not apply immediately and did not affect the users’ rights and permissions in client applications.
  • Sometimes unable to join a PIN-protected conference from an SIP endpoint if the FQDN (domain name) of the TrueConf Server instance was used in the call string instead of the IP address.
  • Sometimes unable to spotlight the content window for the participants who joined the conference from the web application, if the content was also shared from a browser and the participant sharing the content was not allowed to control remote desktops.
  • If participants’ camera and microphone were automatically turned off in the conference settings, the menu for controlling AV devices of SIP/H.323 endpoints was not displayed to the conference owner.
  • Some of the participants could be mistakenly displayed with the “pinned” status for the moderator, who joined the meeting from the web application, if another moderator previously tried to pin these participants in the TrueConf client application but was unable to do it due to the limit on the number of pinned participants on the podium.
  • Unable to remove a participant, who did not join the meeting, from a video window when editing the layout in the real-time meeting management section.
  • The list of conferences was not displayed in the TrueConf Server control panel if one of the following time zones was selected in the OS settings: UTC -12, -10, -9, -8.
  • If the owner of a virtual room did not join this conference when it was started, and then signed in to the TrueConf client application, a conference invitation could be mistakenly sent to this person.
  • The list of participants in the conference that has already ended was not exported correctly to a .csv file in the TrueConf Server control panel.
  • Audio distortions in the incoming stream from the participant who joined the conference via the web application for Safari on iOS/iPadOS.
  • Sometimes unable to make a call from the TrueConf client application to the SIP endpoint that was registered on the same TrueConf Server instance.
  • Could not join the conference hosted on TrueConf MCU from the SIP endpoint registered on TrueConf Server.
  • A user could be mistakenly disconnected from the conference in one or two minutes after joining it if the user joined the conference on its web page from the TrueConf client application that was not already running at the moment of connection.
  • In some rare cases, distortions and freezing of the video sent to and received from the Cisco Jabber application and Cisco Phone IP phones connected to a conference.
  • Sometimes media streams were not sent to a conference from an SIP endpoint if the endpoint was registered on the server where the conference was hosted.
  • If there were several moderators in a role-based conference and all of them allowed attendees to take the podium automatically, the last participant in the list of presenters was not displayed in the layout when all “spots” on the podium were taken.
  • When TrueConf License Manager was used, the TrueConf Room Free license could be mistakenly displayed as a Pro license on a secondary server.
  • Occasional problems with file sharing in chats if the users, who downloaded files, connected to the server earlier than the users who sent these files.
  • Participants could be mistakenly disconnected from meetings, when multiple conferences (a few dozens) were started and ended at the same time.
  • Sometimes unable to join a conference hosted on TrueConf Server for Linux from the web application, if the server was installed in the private network.
  • The notifications about the release of new TrueConf Server versions were not displayed in the control panel of TrueConf Server for Linux.
  • Some minor UI problems in the smart meeting mode when joining a conference from the web application.

  • When no one is speaking, the podium is filled with the participants who have turned on their cameras.
  • The number of participants who can be displayed in the layout is determined by the number of available “spots” on the podium (specified when scheduling the conference).
  • Moderators can “pin” users in the layout to make sure that they are not replaced by other participants according to the rules described above.

  • CPU load could increase when re-indexing a large number of chat files (more than 10,000) stored on the server.
  • When the RFC4028 timer was enabled in the TrueConf Server control panel, a user who has joined the conference hosted on an MCU via SIP could be disconnected.
  • The participant, who signed up for a public conference, could receive an incoming call instead of joining the conference when selecting the client application as a preferred method of joining the conference.
  • An empty list of conferences could be displayed in the application scheduler if a virtual room or a scheduled conference was created in the Scheduled conference or Virtual Rooms sections respectively.
  • In some cases, a user, who was signed in to the client application, could be denied access to the application scheduler after leaving the conference created in the scheduler.
  • Sometimes, when running the server in integration with Active Directory, users could not sign in to the client application if the password validity period was set on the side of the directory service and the password did not expire.
  • In some cases the server process could halt during log files optimization if a large number of such files (more than 10,000) were stored in the system.
