Vee-Hive Changelog

What's new in Vee-Hive 1.9

Mar 30, 2023
  • Functional] In Tile-Mode, when hovering the mouse, the user has the option to see a preview of the file as either a series of still images, or a condensed video preview
  • [Functional] Vee-Hive introduces the idea of 'Assets', which are a means of storing, in a sidecar file, any images/videos that have previously been extracted for some other purpose, e.g. the (just described) mouse-hover functionality, or the creation of Storyboards.
  • [Functional] 'References' may now be associated with either Tags or individual files. A Reference is essentially a link to something 'outside' of the Library. This might be a link to (say) a Word document, or a URL to a relevant website. References are regarded as a type of 'Asset'.
  • [Functional] Files may be moved to new locations within the file system
  • [Functional] Files may be re-named. This can be accomplished via either the File Inspector, or when in List-Mode.
  • [Functional] Items on the Crumb-bar may be dragged and re-arranged via the mouse, making it possible to quickly modify search expressions.
  • [Functional] Tab layouts can be 'remembered' on an individual basis (for example, one tab can be sorted, and in Tile-Mode, whilst another could be unsorted and in List-Mode).
  • [Functional] When sorting, columns can (optionally) be 'banded'. For example, everything over 1080p, is banded as 'Full HD'.
