  • Works with Windows 8 - Win Mail Backup 3 has been tested on all versions of Windows 8 - including the 64bit releases. WMB3 includes significant internal changes specifically for Windows 8 but it is still fully compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP.
  • Support for IE9 and IE10 - WMB3 works with the latest browsers from Microsoft.
  • Enhanced support for Google Chrome - WMB3 includes backup and restore of Tab and Session information.

  • When doing a backup of Windows Live Mail, it was not possible to easily cancel the backup in the event that Windows Live Mail was running when the backup started. This has been fixed.

  • In rare cases, WMB2 was not able to locate the current Contacts data base for Windows Live Mail. This has been corrected.

  • The program has been updated to improve reliability when working with very large Backup files.
  • In some cases, a warning regarding the restore of Contacts would appear on every restore even though the "do not show again" option had been chosen. This has been fixed.

  • The program has been updated to work with the 2011 release of Windows Live Mail.
  • Note: The Contacts from prior versions of WLM are not usable with the 2011 release. You must install this update to backup the Contacts in Windows Live Mail 2011.

  • A modification was made to improve the "View or Restore Selected Messages" function when restoring between Windows Live Mail and Windows Mail.
  • It is now possible to cancel the backup when the preferred backup drive is not available (rather than selecting a new folder).
  • If the restore was started from a double click on a backup file - it was not possible to browse to open a different backup. This has been corrected.
  • In rare cases, an "access violation" would occur while modifying the "job" parameters"". This has been corrected.
