  • This extra release is intended for new live/CD-ROM installations only. It removes the Windows XP Embedded SP3 registry information, so that users can continue receiving updates from Windows Update.

New in Windows XP SP4 Unofficial 3.1a (Feb 8, 2016)

  • DxDiag registry errors have been fixed.
  • Live installation: Fixed problematic inf files when installed on top of N, KN SP3 builds of Windows XP.
  • Fixed the "Show desktop" icon not showing up glitch. (It was not fixed by the method mentioned by Kurt_aust, but I found another way)
  • Proper integration of the latest time zone update
  • Some system files checked by WGA-related tools like Productkey update tool are now digitally signed by 'Windows Component Publisher'
  • 4GB patches PE checksum have been fixed. New OC-PATCHES files for v3.1
  • Some other minor fixes.

  • POSReady updates until January 2016 have been included
  • 16-bit app emulation issue when installing from slipstreamed CD-ROM has been fixed
  • Fixed the 4GB+ PAE patch
  • Some other minor fixes
  • Fixed the "FP" (false positive) "malware" files in SP4 v2.
