New in Wipe 2401 (Feb 2, 2024)

  • Introducing new deletion system! Our app still does the same job as usually, but deletion speed has been increased for 5-10% according our tests. Security remains the same, all secure deletion algorithms are compatible with a new system. We made changes to API and procedures that related to the standard file removal. In other words, this procedure has been greatly improved. And, as a result, our app will work a little bit faster.

New in Wipe 2312 (Dec 12, 2023)

  • Added new zones for cleanup. We didn't forget about main purpose of our app - garbage cleaning - and we are improving this function with every release.

  • We've got many positive feedback after changing startup screen of our app. Now the time has come to change the design of the main screen. We retired green line, added logo and re-arranged controls. Now it looks much better. In the next releases we will continue improving design of our app, stay tuned!

  • New startup screen:
  • We have improved "face" of the app - startup screen. It now contains app's logo and doesn't have the green line at the top. We have plans to make more changes to the design of our app to make interface clean and smooth. Today is just a first step.

  • Interface improvements:
  • We have improved translation for the following languages: German, Czech and Dutch. Thanks to our volunteers! Please give us feedback about new translations.

New in Wipe 2307 (Aug 7, 2023)

  • New cleaning options for Windows section:
  • We have added several new options to the Windows OS section. They are not selected by default, so you will need to check these zones manually in order to clean these new areas. Most users don't need these options selected, however, we discovered that cached files there may stay for years without any changes, wasting system resources.

New in Wipe 2306 (Jul 13, 2023)

  • We have added more than 100 new zones for cleanup. If you have some supported app installed on your computer, our "Wipe" will detect it and clean any garbage in it. Total number of supported zones: 4740
  • Our app will no longer collect technical information about your computer. All API which were related to data collection were removed from the app starting this release. Technical information is related to computer only, like how many processors you have or what is the screen resolution of your display. Please note that personal information was never collected and will never be collected.

  • This release includes various code improvements related to the cleaning procedures. In recent days we are focused on the quality of our product and improving code that related to the main purpose of the app.

  • Good morning! The green color is back! As we have promised before, interface of our app reverted back to the classic color. Also, we made some other minor changes to the code to improve performance of our app.

  • Update includes small code changes and bug fixes. There are no visual changes for users, but, anyway, our app get better (even a little bit!).

New in Wipe 2228 (Dec 28, 2022)

  • May the new year bring you peace, joy, and happiness! Today we are releasing the final software update in this year. There are few performance and style improvements:
  • Added over 50 new zones for cleanup in several third-party apps.
  • Changed application color from "forest green" to "steel blue", to reflect cold times of the New Year's days. We will switch back to the previous color in the beginning of spring 2023.

New in Wipe 2226 (Nov 3, 2022)

  • This is a regular maintenance update that needed for our coders to keep software up to date. There are no changes to the interface, however, some changes were made to the code to improve stability and security of an application. Recommended to install.

New in Wipe 2225 (Oct 7, 2022)

  • Fixed bug with Internet Explorer cleaning:
  • Thanks to our users we were able to catch some bugs related to the cleaning in the Internet Explorer app. Its an old version of Microsoft browser, which was replaced by Edge. Mostly, people don't use it anymore. However, we are correcting some issues with it because some of you still running an old Windows OS which has it by default. Also, some modern apps are still using Internet Explorer core even nowadays. Thus, this can be important for anyone.

New in Wipe 2224 (Sep 15, 2022)

  • Increased size of navigation buttons on the "Advanced screen". It will now allow to display full text of a button no matter of language.
  • Improved piece of code which is related to security. We cannot provide further details to maximize effect from our changes.

  • In this release we are giving access to many Premium functions to our free users. In previous version you will need to purchase Professional license to use these functions, but with this release you can access them for free. This is - promotional campaign, so please note that the number of functions are limited to the list below.
  • In the app's cleaning list:
  • Unlocked 4 premium zones to cleanup in Chrome and any browser based on Chromium core (tens of titles), now you can clean them all for free (see Advanced screen).
  • In the app's Preferences:
  • Unlocked premium function to decrease app startup time, less logos and confirmation texts (Preferences - Main section).
  • Unlocked premium function to enable or disable statistics (Preferences - Stats section).

  • This is intermediary technical update which is used to improve few parts of the code. You won't notice any changes, but for us updating app's core is an important part of our work.

  • For sure, you will notice one great change - window that offers you to upgrade to Professional version no longer have 8 seconds countdown. You don't have to wait 8 seconds to close that window, you can close it immediately.
  • There are also few more changes... From time to time any software needs maintenance to keep working smoothly. The time has come for our app also - with this update we are making few small changes and fixing couple of bugs related to the interface, making sure that our app is up to date.

  • Improved cleaning in Windows OS (our app will clean list of suggested apps, which is based on user activity history).

New in Wipe 2110 (Jul 25, 2021)

  • In this update we have improved uninstaller module: it has been also signed by code signing certificate to prevent security issues. Previously, unsigned executable could rise warning message in your antivirus, but this is now resolved.
  • Even if you don't have plans to uninstall our app it is better to have all program files signed with the new code signing certificate.

New in Wipe 2109 (Jun 27, 2021)

  • We are happy to present you one more mothly improvement of our app which includes cleaning and performance improvements.
  • Added 108 new zones for cleanup.
  • Added new versioning policy: from now on version number will start with two digits - year of release, and two next digits will mean build number. The dot will be removed (but will remain in technical information).
  • Improved user interface of several service screens.
  • Fixed issue with the blinking menu. It should and it will blink, but will not crash anymore.

  • This update of the software includes several minor bug fixes.

  • In addition, we have changed interval for subscription reminder, it's increased from 60 days to 90 days. In other words, it won't disturb you too much.

  • In this release we are improving cleaning in Chrome and Chromium-based browsers, fixing several bugs and adding new zones for cleanup:;
  • Added 118 new zones for cleanup. Mostly, these new zones related to Windows Defender and Chrome browser (as well as any other Chromium based browsers). Total number of zones now 3686.
  • Added Hungarian translation (partial).
  • Fixed issue with the incorrect information on the License screen for owners of Professional version.
  • Fixed several minor issues related to the app's core.

New in Wipe 2021.06 (Apr 19, 2021)

  • Added 188 new zones for cleanup. Total number of all supported zones is 3568. If you have some app installed and it's not in our list - please let us know! We will add it very quickly.
  • Added couple of new quotes from very famous person. He is a president. Once he was on Time's magazine cover. And, seriously, we don't know why we didn't add him before... Try to guess - who is he? :)
  • Fixed critical bug "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" resulting in an app crash.

New in Wipe 2021.05 (Mar 24, 2021)

  • In this release we are improving cleaning of your computer by adding more zones that can be monitored by our app and cleaned. Less garbage - more performance!
  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added almost 300 (291) new zones for cleanup on your computer. These zones related to different third-party apps that may be installed in your PC.
  • At this moment, total number of zones that supported by our app is 3389. Not all zones will be available on your PC, but if some exists - you can be sure our app will be able to handle it!

  • Improved process of closing conflicting applications - you will see small pink popup window that will tell you which application will be closed. This will prevent "frozen" window for better user experience.

  • Improved processing. Our app no longer checks for permissions for each file, because almost 99% of files belongs to you. We have decided to better track file permission errors, which occurs rarely, instead of verification of permission for each file. This should increase processing speed.
  • Improved advanced screen - sections "Windows OS" and "Windows Core" now in joined to one section.
  • Added few new zones for cleanup.
  • BUG FIXES AND REMOVED FUNCTIONS:
  • Fixed issue when cleaning Chromium browsers (settings of extensions will not be cleaned by default).

New in Wipe 2021.02 (Feb 3, 2021)

  • This release dedicated to bug fixing. Since major update in the beginning of January we found that new version is stable, but has a lot of small bugs, and our app should be "polished". This is what exactly what we have done. Recent couple of weeks all our team was completely focused on investigation of issues. It was a lot of work, and we don't want to bother you with details. Some of issues are still there, but they are so small so you even may not notice. But we will fix them too, don't worry.
  • Thanks to our optimizations the size of the setup file lost almost 439 Kb!
  • Also, in this release we are adding 254 new zones for cleanup, total zones in the database now - 2796.

New in Wipe 2021.01 (Jan 25, 2021)

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added 191 new zones for cleanup in different apps and Windows OS. Total number of zones in our database now is 2542.
  • Added additional tab in the Preferences to show you amount of zones which were found on your computer and the total amount of zones in our database.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed many small bugs which were found in a new release. Honestly, bug fixes - was our top priority within past two weeks. If you still have any issue with our app, please submit feedback with screenshot and details.

New in Wipe 2021.00 (Jan 8, 2021)

  • This release is a fully rewritten software, which means we wrote all codes from scratch, revising all supported apps again. This is major update with many new functions.
  • Key change in the interface - new "Advanced screen" which allows you to clean single app with one click only. You can roll over your mouse over each zone (checkbox) and see details about what it cleans.
  • New functions - we have added many new functions, you can find them all in the Settings. For example: custom items, auto exclusion list, manual exclude keywords, shutdown or defragment your computer, app sorting and many other.
  • Supported apps revised - we have now more than 3000 zones for cleanup. Also, we will add more zones within next few months.
  • Design - remains almost the same, you will not be stressed by new interface, it have many changes, but they are small and nice.

New in Wipe 2020.18 (Oct 27, 2020)

  • Improved cleaning of cache of bookmarks icons in FireFox and Chrome browsers. Per request from our users we are changing the way how cached icons deleted in these browsers. By default, after cleaning your bookmarks loose all icons, and you will need to re-visit page so the browser updates site's icon. Now it's fixed. Cleaning of bookmarks icons is now separated in an individual checkbox which is not selected by default. Thus, they wont disappear without your explicit permission..
  • Added new function to search for software updates manually. At any time, as you wish. You can access this option from the menu which is available under icon at the top right corner of an app's window. Note that automatic updates also enabled, thus there is no need to use this new option until you want it "right here, right now"...
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed bug when disabled typing effect result in overload of title bar.
  • Fixed bug that displays wrong version number in "About" window.

New in Wipe 2020.17 (Oct 4, 2020)

  • Added new function - create Windows OS restore point before cleanup. This is additional layer of security to prevent unexpected changes by the cleaning process. Our app will use Windows OS function and create system restore point, and if (should not be), but IF something goes wrong you can roll back your Windows OS to previous state. You can access this function in the settings area. It requires a little bit of configuration, click the link to enable it.
  • Changed location of link "My interesting stats", it is now in the Settings area, not on the main screen.
  • Removed reminder for "My interesting stats" service, which disturbs you once per month. We are going to suspend this service soon and completely re-design it till the end of this year.

You can find this option by clicking system menu icon on the top right side of the program's window, then click menu option "About the app".   • Fixed issue when the app image during cleanup was bigger that it should be.
  • Fixed issue when you see "update" notification on Windows OS startup, even when you have newest version installed.
  • Fixed issue with "permission denied" error when third-party security software blocks access for our app.

New in Wipe 2020.11 (May 5, 2020)

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added new function: areas where are amount of garbage is over zero will be now highlighted by red marker (see left part of navigation panel).
  • Added new function: Interesting stats. This is individual (per computer) anonymous (!!!) statistics. You can see details about deleted garbage in a convenient form and graphs. This option will appear on all computers, however, it will not be available to all users today, just to some of you. This function still needs a lot of programming. Check back later if you dont have it working yet.
  • Added support for cleaning temporary files, cache and other garbage in the following apps: browsers Opera and Slimjet, Netflix app.
  • Improved storage for images of the interface, they are now saved without encryption. This will improve perfomance (application startup time).
  • Improved interface of common dialog boxes.
  • Improved interface of window used for activation of software.
  • Improved error reporting system.
  • Improved all connections to our server will be processed via secure connection (SSL).
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Removed several scripts related to data analysys, thus, software will work a little bit faster.

New in Wipe 2020.10 (Apr 15, 2020)

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added cleaning of garbage in the following software: NVIDIA, OEM logs, OneNote, Ookla Speed Test.
  • Added function that not allow you to open more than one window of our software at the same time. We made this because if you open two or more cleaning processes they may conflict and crash.
  • Added deletion of previous version of Wipe, many of you still have very old version which is not working, but still installed.
  • Improved access to Windows temp folder, in some cases it can be missing and our app will re-create it.
  • Improved app initialization (now you see small window for few seconds if an app needs initialization).
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed issue when installation keep system files in the old folder (LocalAppData), now installation fixed to ProgramFiles folder, which is default for all apps.
  • Fixed bug when after uninstall startup record can still exists.
  • Fixed issue when you can see multiple messages that app has been updated when upgrading from very old version of software.
  • Removed an option to launch our app after installation directly from the installer.

New in Wipe 2020.08 (Mar 17, 2020)

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added window that will notify you when the software update is available and you will be able to choose to install it now or later. Previously, the program installed all updates in hidden mode on the background. Now you can choose.
  • Added cleaning of Dr Web cache of certificates.
  • Improved cleaning of Windows Core: added logs of user's USO.
  • Improved application startup time.
  • Improved speed of cleaning and speed of the interface: we have completely removed popup tooltips, they eat a lot of resources and their benefits are controversial. You can still access data which was in the tooltip box by clicking "info" icon.
  • Improved settings storage. Now all preferences related to our software will be stored not in the registry, but in the user folder.
  • Improved setup script. Now application will be installed into the Program Files folder, instead of user data folder. From now on installation will always require administrative privileges.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed by default the program will not run with administrative privileges.
  • Removed question at first startup if user wants to run application with administrative privileges. We will not confuse you with this question. This option will be available in the settings.

New in Wipe 2020.07 (Mar 13, 2020)

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added link to delete all garbage in a single application with one click. You will not need to click every single item.
  • Added list of supported apps (see Preferences). You can now disable any app from appearing in the list for cleaning. Such apps wont appear in the list and wont be ever cleaned. This will help you manage cleaning list if its too big for you.
  • Added support for cleaning garbage in Waterfox browser, its a first browser based on Firefox core and we will add more browsers based on Firefox with the next updates.
  • Improved interface for each supported application.
  • Improved automatic translations, approximately 70 phrases has been updated.
  • Improved cleaning and calculation speed. We have removed "processing" image in the navigation menu. This is temporary, we will replace it by more informative element of the interface.
  • BUG FIXES:
  • Fixed bug that can automatically install old version instead of newer (in case if you manually re-install the software and have older setup pending).
  • Fixed issue when our app crashes when some important files are missing. Now we inform user about missing files and close our app gently.
  • Removed icon "new" which appeared in front of new functions. Even if it was good idea we don't like the way it looks like. We will replace it with something else in the future versions.

  • NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS:
  • Added message that asking user if he/she would like to run the software with administrative priveleges. This message appears only once. You can switch this option in the Settings area of the software at anytime later.
  • Added cleaning of Yandex browser. We found that this browser collects more tracks and garbage on your PC even more than original Chrome.
  • Added cleaning of garbage files "Reporting and NEL" in Chrome browser and in all other Chromium-based browsers (including Microsoft Edge).
  • Added cleaning of Microsoft Edge Backups folder (previous version of Edge, which is not based on Chromium).
  • Improved procedure when you click any links inside the software (added Microsoft Edge Chromium).

  • Fixed issue when the installation script restarts the software when it should just simply close it.

  • Congratulations with a very good news! A new version 18.00 is here! We have many changes which are related to design of the program and to it's interface.
