  • To simplify usage, the Online Guest Calendar add-on has been moved to the Web Bookings menu. The Online Guest Calendar gives you a real-time availability calendar which you can include on your website. To set up select from the main menu "Web Bookings > Configure Web Bookings".

  • Due to technical issues with our key+name registration system we have moved to an 'Online Activation' system. To use this or newer versions you will need your Activation Email + Pin to install. If you do not have it please contact support with your order number and we will send it to you.
  • We've received several requests to enable credit card processing from within iMagic Hotel Reservation. As a test we've enabled this option for some customers to try out and for feedback. If you would like to be involved in testing this feature, please contact support and we can enable it for your account.
  • Booking Summary and most screens have been updated to support different languages.
  • Date selection controls have been updated to the newer version.
  • Added a new 'booking added date'. The system now automatically records when a booking was created, it is now shown on the Booking Summary. - Many thanks to Spyros for this suggestion.

  • Added a new Booking Rate Report. Ideal for managing rentals and providing an overview of hotel bookings. Given a date range it will show the room, guest arrival/depature, quantity (usually number of nights booked), rate and total.

  • Added various updates to our Cloud Web Services, including Full Calendar Refresh and a new online Guest Calendar that can be emedded into your website.

  • Cleaning List export has been updated with a new tag, showing the dirty/clean status of a room (as shown on the Advanced Calendar).
  • Export > Customers has been updated to include additional guest information and export progress. - Many thanks to John Walker for this suggestion.
  • A third taxing option has been added. This can be used for additional tax options or automatically calculating government charges such as hospitality tax. This update includes changes to booking, tax rates, settings and the booking summary.
  • Bug fixes including support for using a comma as a decimal (as used in France for example).
  • Configuration of folders have been moved from general settings to Configure > Advanced > Template Folders.

  • To keep in line with the latest security updates from Microsoft we've updated our security certificates for installation. This helps to keep your PC and data safe.
  • On request we've updated the season weekend rates so more rates can be entered. This is for when you're wanting to have many seasons setup with pricing on each. Seasons allow you to have iMagic Hotel work out the guest charge based on the time of year. - Many thanks to Sarah Lively for this suggestion.
  • On another request we've updated the Customer Import to include custom fields. This allows you to import information from other systems, the custom fields allow you to save additional information for guests and at the same time keep it organized. - Many thanks to Sarah Lively for this suggestion.
  • We're continuing to update the GUI (interface) to meet the requirements and new standards of Windows. This update includes those interface updates such as the reporting section.
  • On request we've added an option to reset the Advanced Calendar layout back to it's default. The layout on the Advanced Calendar can be modified (for example by dragging columns and rows to resize them). It's possible to configure it so much that you've lost where you are, if that's the case you can now select 'reset' and it will pop it back again. While we were there we also moved the Print button to the top as it was overwriting the key details for some users (thanks to Russell Wilson for the pointer). - Many thanks to Rebecca Moore for this suggestion.
  • By request we've added a Hungarian translation for our cousins in Hungry. A big thanks to Zoltan for providing the translation, he went through all the text and translated it even picking up on some of our spelling errors (we fixed them too). - Many thanks to Zoltan Tatrai for this suggestion.
  • We've fixed several bugs that have been reported, including an issue with the customer custom field entry, Advanced Calendar crash on some systems, protected the default rate, sometimes rates were set to $0 using Rate pricing, Sync update.

New in iMagic Hotel Reservation 5.71 (Jun 8, 2016)

  • We've added a new Season Pricing option for room charges - Day of the Week. Previously Season Pricing was by weekday and weekend, the new Day of the Week option allows pricing to be set for each individual day. The new option is available under Seasonal Pricing when editing the room details.
  • We've expanded the commission calculations that are available. This update includes the ability to calculate a commission based on the percentage of the room charge. During a booking if a Commission Account is selected iMagic Hotel Reservation will automatically record the commission due on the account. The new Commission Charge calculations are Manual, Percentage of Total Room Charge and Percentage from Room Settings. Commissions are a good way for a hotel to expand it's guest base outside of it's normal booking markets. Commission Accounts reduce the management overhead allowing the hotel owner to manage the commissions by tracking the amount due and payments made.

  • To compliment the new Room Type options we've added new hotel management graph reporting reports - "Revenue by month (Room Type)", "Occupancy for date range (Room Type)...", "Occupancy for date range (Room Type) %...". These options are available under the Reports view.

New in iMagic Hotel Reservation 5.65 (Feb 6, 2016)

  • New Room Rates (Configure/Advanced/Rates), these allow common Rates to be centrally set then reused and shared between rooms.
  • Room Types have been expanded to include the ability to also share Room Rates (Configure/Advanced/Room Types). During a new hotel reservation if the room has a Room Type and Rate, then the Rate will be automatically applied.
  • Ability to override rate during a booking (Configure/Booking Fields - Choose Room Rate), this allows for special rates to be applied for a room during a hotel booking without having to assign them specifically to a room or room type.
  • With the various ways of assigning rates we've included a new Room Pricing Options (Configure/Room Pricing Options) which allows the different pricing methods to be turned toggled on and off. Basic, Seasonal, Room Type and Multiple Room Rate. If you're not using a particular pricing method they will be not be shown in the application.
  • Combine Receipt option has been included in the Find Customer/Guest. This should save time when you know the receipt needs to be combined. - Many thanks to Ted Burnin @ Daylight Ranch Resort for this suggestion.
  • Web Services - Update 24/7 Channel Manager link has been updated and now also includes a Full Calendar Refresh.

  • Added a new Accounts view, this shows outstanding balances and "account aging". Basically it shows the length of time an account has been overdue along with the balance. The plan is to extend this as we receive feedback on this new feature.

  • New Cleaning and Room Maintenance system added. When enabled (Configure/Advanced/Cleaning and Maintenance) right clicking on a room in the calendar allows the cleaning status and any maintenance tasks to be managed. A new maintenance menu option is then also available on the main menu.

  • iMagic Hotel Reservation version number is now shown on the title bar to help support.
