  • Plug-in formats: Added 64-bit AAX support for Pro Tools 11
  • Please note: This update no longer supports 32-bit AAX. Customers accustomed to using 32-bit AAX in Pro Tools 10 can instead use the RTAS plug-in format without any degradation in audio quality. For your convenience, any session saved with the 32-bit AAX version of Alloy 2 will automatically open with RTAS.

New in iZotope Alloy 2.01 (Aug 29, 2012)

  • Redesigned Interface:
  • New, larger interface makes even more controls accessible on the front of the plug-in, helping you click less to achieve your desired results.
  • Overview Panel:
  • A simplified view where you can easily monitor and tweak relevant settings of the currently-enabled Alloy modules. Panel also updates instantly while previewing presets, highlighting the modules and settings used by each.
  • 200+ New Presets:
  • Over 200 new presets for individual instruments, buses, utility tasks, broadcasting & podcasting, post production and more: a broad mix of start points, end points, and quick fixes to use throughout the mix process.
  • New Module:Preset system New system for loading and saving settings for individual modules, complete with 60 new Module Presets that showcase some of the best uses for each module.
  • Gain Trace Meters:
  • Monitor gain changes over time in modules that perform dynamic processing, including the Transient Shaper, Dynamics 1 and 2, De-Esser, and Limiter.
  • Threshold Gain Reduction Meters:
  • New interactive meters help you intuitively set and monitor levels by juxtaposing a threshold slider with input gain meters and gain reduction meters. Available in the De-Esser, Limiter, and Dynamics 1 and 2.
  • Internal Meter Tap:
  • Seamless integration with Ozone 5 Advanced: each instance of Alloy 2 can be visually monitored and individually labeled in the Meter Bridge via an internal Meter Tap.
  • AAX Support:
  • Support for Pro Tool's new Avid Audio eXtension plug-in format.
  • 64-Bit Support Compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit hosts in Windows and OS X.
  • New EQ Filter Types:
  • Create complex and complementary EQ curves with fewer nodes: new filters include Baxandall filters, Vintage and Resonant Shelf filters, Flat and Brickwall Pass filters, and a Vintage Bell filter.
  • Baxandall Bass and Treble Filters:
  • Recreate the renowned sound of the Baxandall Equalizer, known for its gentle slope with greater control allowed by the unrestricted frequency settings.
  • Vintage Low and High Shelf Filters:
  • Create a sound reminiscent of a Pultec Equalizer, known for boosting the low end while cutting low/midrange frequencies that can become boomy.
  • Resonant Shelf Filters:
  • Enable high and low shelf filters that exhibit resonance at both ends of the filter slope.
  • Zoomable Spectrum:
  • Zoom by time and frequency for precise equalization settings.
  • New Transient Shaper Technology:
  • Fully redesigned technology for transient shaping, correction, and/or experimentation.
  • Integrated Gain Meter:
  • New meter for visualizing how adjustments to the Attack and Sustain sliders affect your audio.
  • Transient Detection Indicators:
  • New meter for visualizing where the hits, plucks, and picks are in your incoming audio signal.
  • New Exciter Technology:
  • Redesigned technology for easy blending of refined harmonic saturation algorithms, from a subtle warmth to a pronounced edge.
  • Refined Saturation Modes:
  • Revamped harmonic modes provide saturation ideal for both subtle and extreme effects on a wide variety of material.
  • Post Filter:
  • Adjustable High Shelf filter controls only the wet signal output by the Exciter, allowing for more precise saturation.
  • Dynamics Detection Filter:
  • New filter allows for precise control of what frequencies are reduced in the Dynamics process, can be used on input or sidechain signal. Filters' resonances allow for more creative applications of compression.
  • All Bands Mode:
  • New All Bands mode shows most crucial controls for every band in one convenient view.
  • Unlinked Stereo Limiting:
  • Independently limit the Left and Right channels: achieve more transparent limiting on material with a wide stereo image by limiting only the channel that exceeds the threshold.
  • More Sidechain Support:
  • Sidechaining lets you trigger the Compressor or Gate from external sources–even to individual frequency bands in Multiband mode.
