What's new in mstex (previously mStartEX) 2.0 Beta
May 6, 2014- Smaller EXE size
- Faster render time for Tiles and “App Tabs”
- Two mode to see items, Win 8 like Tiles, and new, longer “AppTabs”
- AppTabs/Tiles are shown in limited quantities for speed purposes
- Items are broken down in to “Pages”, with either Numbers you can click on, or a Slider to advance forward/backwards
- Reboot / Logoff / Shutdown from the menu
- Quickstart, Pinned Start Menu and Pinned Taskbar items are now shown under one icon
- Blacklist filtering, to keep from showing unwanted items (web page links, uninstallers, whatever)
- “Active Tasks” shows currently running apps (you will be able to “use this as an Alt-Tab..Eventually)
- Skinned backgrounds
- Quicksort is still in, it has a “Wildcard” (“*”) as the last item, incase you need to View all items again.
- Windows 8 only unique options, such as Boot to Desktop, Disable Charms, and Disable Windows 8 top-left hand corner

- toggle between alphabetic sorting or metro mode is 1 click
- tile lister is now “full size” for less scrolling
- tile lister now recurses the \Random\ folder, adds to list
