Music Explorer FX is a program that allows you to search the Internet for various pieces of information about a specific band, and view others that relate to the genre that the band that you selected plays.
The Looks
I can say that Music Explorer FX is a piece of software created in Java, using the webstart technology. That means it’s lightweight, and very easy to use. The interface is truly one of the most simple I have ever seen. It’s composed only of a search bar, where you enter the name of the band you are interested in. After that, you are prompted with various screens, depending on what you want to do. If you want to see related bands, you will be shown a black screen with a tree-styled interface displaying all the bands similar to the one you selected.
Another pretty important thing is that you can also fulfill all of these actions in fullscreen mode, enriching the overall experience. It all depends on the way you want to employ the software.
The Works
Music Explorer FX is very easy to use. It all depends on the way you want to use the software. But the main purpose of Music Explorer FX is to let you search for bands or singers that belong to the genre of the singer you have already searched for. All is made to enrich your musical experience by learning about new bands and listen to brand-new, good music.
As I said before, Music Explorer FX opens with a screen where you are asked to insert the name of the band that you are interested in. It may take a little time, depending on your Internet connection, but, after that, you will be shown a tree-styled window where you can view the band you want, and also the ones related to it, up to a maximum of six bands.
You can select any of them now. If you select the original one, you can see that some options appear under the main picture. You can return to the search window by using the first tab, or get some information about the band. In other words, you will get links to the main videos of the band hosted on YouTube, you can also get some links to the main blogs, or links wherefrom you can buy the albums.
On the right panel, you get access to reviews and news, in order to keep you updated on tours, launches, and other important events. The reviews are also a great source to view the popularity and importance of the band, and also make an idea of what you can expect from it.
Another pretty good feature is the fact that, for some bands or artists, you have access to some of their music, in order to listen to it and make an opinion on how they sound like. This is very important if you are one of those people that don’t want to listen to the samples already provided on YouTube. Another link will give you access to the main pictures of the band, similar to the ones you come across when you make a Google search.
The last tab will help you accommodate with the interface. As you search for artists, Music Explorer FX will keep a history so that you can easily return to the ones that you like. The previously selected artists are located in the upper-right corner of the interface.
