14 DAY TRIAL // We all appreciate a good sense of humor. It's great when people make us laugh, and it's even better when we manage to make others laugh. Doctors say it's therapeutic, it always helps with human interaction, it's a great ice-breaker when meeting new people or when the atmosphere is tense. I can't think of a situation when a good sense of humor doesn't come in handy. One must be careful, though. Humor is tricky, what might seem funny to you may offend, disturb or even upset others. It's vital not to be inappropriate, bad sense of humor can easily ruin relationships.
Luckily, sense of humor, like many other human qualities, can be trained and sometimes even faked. Observing friends interact, watching TV, movies, commercials or whatever, even browsing the web often helps those who can't pull off being funny. But most people can't afford the time to do such things and many come to peace with the thought of never having a sense of humor.

Well, I came across a very nice piece of software suitable for both those who "knew it" and those who "didn't get it". It's called Joke Sleuth (I didn't get why, by the way?) and it's a personal database of jokes that you can custom. It's similar to many comic websites, with hundreds of jokes grouped in well known categories. What makes it special? Well, first of all, it's a program, not a site. This means no internet connection required, no ads, no popups, no malware risks. Also, you can custom your joke database: add all the jokes you hear during the day that you like and want to remember, delete those you didn't fancy (though I doubt you'll find many, it has great jokes).
You can get a trial version of this program for free, with lots of jokes included. Install it on your home PC and laugh for hours or prepare some of the funniest for your guests. Install it at the office and enjoy a relaxing break once in a while. No need to browse the web for jokes. The registered version has over 1000 jokes and you'll get free updates for a year. The database is searchable by words, phrases and keywords.
As I was saying, you can add all the jokes you like. You can add them in pre-existent categories or make your own categories. You can separate the included jokes from your own, if you choose to. Jokes have titles and are rated either General(G) or Restricted(R). You can set keywords for each joke and add comments. Categories can be added as stand-alone or sub-categories for others.
JokeSleuth allows you to customize the viewing of the jokes. You can choose between various font styles and font sizes (8 to 72). Also, all jokes can be printed in a printer-friendly manner. Another interesting option is "Joke of the Day". This is similar to "Tip of the day", only you won't choose "Don't show any more tips". Joke of the day will show one joke randomly picked from the database when you open the program and can also be used at any time while you're using Joke Sleuth. Just go to Help, Joke of the day and the program will select a joke to make you laugh.
If you feel you know jokes worthy of being known by all Joke Sleuth users, you can submit your jokes to the producer. If they should choose to include your joke in the database update, you get 33 percent off the JokeSleuth registration fee.
The good
I liked this program because it stores a large, well-organized database of very funny jokes. It has viewing options, you can add your own jokes and you can search the database. JokeSleuth is very easy to use and its interface is friendly and nicely designed.
The bad
I can't point to anything I didn't like about JokeSleuth. The trial version is not very restrictive, but I wouldn't have missed the nag screens.
The truth
JokeSleuth is a joke database for anyone to enjoy at a fair price. No ads, popups, malware and you can add your own jokes.
Who couldn't use a good laugh or learn a new hilarious joke? Surprise your friends, family or colleagues with a small bit of fun. They'll appreciate it.
