This software is so direct and simple that I didn't think an introduction is necessary; after all, how can you introduce metronome software? My intentions were rather to tell you about one really good time/beats measuring software than to beat around the bushes wasting your precious time with sterile words.

The Looks & The Works

M&M Systeme Metronom is one neat, good-looking software: in fact, it's so simple that it tells you what and how to do just by looking at it. I really can't imagine the person who couldn't operate it: I guess that once you are acquainted to using a PC, you'll definitely be able to operate M&M Systeme Metronom.

This piece of software has a very appealing GUI in the form of a window with polished metal background and a very smooth and sleek grey gradient, with very neat and techno-like buttons and two very generously-large digit-counters for both tempo and beats. M&M Systeme Metronom is no complicated metronome at any rate: perfectly fit for beginner musicians and pros, as well, it won't confuse you with complex measures such as 17/29 or 5/8 or hell knows what else ? there are only two things you have to adjust and then it's up to you to sing to the rhythm.

As I strongly believe I don't need to explain anything about what Tempo is, I'll skip that and I?ll just tell you that M&M Systeme Metronom will be able to play anywhere between 10 and 250 BPM so you can play anything from the slow, ?doomsday? mourning music up to the fastest black metal or sickest speed-grind. The beat-measure ranges from 1 to 100: those who are well into musical theory can try and calculate what measures can be attained by using M&M Systeme Metronom... :)

The whole GUI is rather small in size but the two displays showing tempo and beat are large and very visible even from a large distance so one could easily see the values they are currently at with just a glimpse. Also, rather large and very visible are the optic signals, green for each beat of the tempo and red for the accent-beat at the end of the measures: one could therefore, easily use the M&M Systeme Metronom without sound, when in a silence-requiring environment ? being also visible from a large distance means that you don't even have to be close to the monitor!

Some very cool thinking in what operating the M&M Systeme Metronom is concerned has allowed separate volume controlling for the tempo and beat sounds! You no longer have just the power to control the general volume of the metronome but can even balance the two sounds according to your liking. This feature is especially useful when using other sounds than the traditional (default) sounds the M&M Systeme Metronom will play; you have no less than 9 different sounds you can assign for either tempo or beat. You can also set the same sound for the beat so you can actually get a true life-like accent on the proper beat; it's like having your practice-drummer on your PC!

These sounds are very easily selectable: they are accessible by pressing one of the dedicated 9 buttons for each ?channel? while the volume is adjustable by using the vertical bars right next to these dials. As you want to (let's say) raise the tempo of the current rhythm, just one mouse click on the ?+? sign in the Tempo-side of the GUI is necessary? all you have to do now is to repeatedly press the Enter key to see the value increasing step by step with each pressing: or keep it pressed to jump much faster and quickly switch from a nice 4/4 120BPM ballad to a fast-battering 4/4 198 BPM thrash metal line! Obviously, the same applies to lowering these values, as I think you

If need be, you can start only one channel, therefore you are capable to work with tempo or accent beat only: this is useful when the user wants to rehearse using the metronome in a more challenging way, for example, with beat accent only. I am quite sure the musicians will smile, as they know what I am talking about...

The Good

9 sounds for a totally configurable metronome experience and a very easy to use GUI looking both functional and appealing.

The Bad

I could not find any bad things in M&M Systeme Metronom.

The Truth

Overall, the M&M Systeme Metronom is definitely a very good and handy tool, especially that it has the 9 different measure/beat sounds so you can actually rehearse along playing almost any instrument from death metal guitars to marching bands tuba and so on! One more thing: it?s absolutely free!

Take a look at the screenshots below while you think of the first song you'll rehearse with M&M Systeme Metronom:
