Today I found another interesting system optimizer and cleaner, and when this happens, I usually grab that program and review it. This time I make no exception, so here's the victim - Optimizer Rx!

This program is a fresh product on the market, its latest version being 1.01. What I have here is its 14 days trial version, and to register, you have to take 29.95$ out of the pocket (be careful to use one of your pockets, because you may have problems with the law otherwise...). The setup package has 4.7MB in size and it was very easy to install, so let's leave this part behind and move on to the program's interface and features.

There's not much to say here, because this program is not extremely complex, having only four items inside the main menu, but I must say that I like the way it looks. All the graphics present here are excellent and you don't have to be a computer expert to use this program without problems, and so we get to the features part...

The main menu's items are entitled Scan Now, Cleaning Preferences, Control Panel and Update. First of all, I have to warn you about an important thing. When you scan your system for the first time, there are also some cleaning operations involved, and your Internet cookies will be removed if you use the default settings. If you don't want this to happen, just jump to the Control Panel and customize the Windows Cleaning area.

When the scan is complete, you can choose the items to remove in order to improve your system's performance. Issues that can be solved by this program are registry errors, unwanted files, spyware, malware and even more.

The Cleaning Preferences area allows you to enable registry keys backup, save a log file, run the program at startup and, the most important of all, shred the data you clean using DoD, NSA and Gutmann wiping methods, together with a random 1-pass deletion strategy that I don't recommend, because the data purged this way has big chances to be recovered.

The Control Panel has six areas, the first three allowing you to change the program's cleaning settings, and the others helping you with different system management tasks.

Registry, Windows and Active Protection are the items that can be customized here. Be careful with the options here, because you may end up removing data that shouldn't be removed, but if you're careful, nothing should go wrong.

Add/Remove Program Manager, BHO Manager and the Startup Program Manager are the last items available here, and their use is obvious. Each of these is a really basic tool, but you can do your job using them, and this is what really matters.

At last, there's no area to be accessed using the Update menu item, you just click it and if there's an update available, it shall be done.

This is it for now, so let's move to the conclusions!

The Good

Optimizer Rx can be used to protect your system against different attacks from the Internet, clean your system, fix errors and manage your installed programs, all inside a good looking and easy to use interface. The data shredder can assure you that your personal data will never be seen by the wrong person.

The Bad

I like this program, but I don't like the fact that it's too expensive and the features offered are quite limited. Anyway, this is only the beginning, and I hope to see much more in the future.

The Truth

I have decided for myself, and I won't keep this program for the 14 days long trial period or buy it, but I can't advise you not to try it, because that wouldn't be fair at all, especially since Optimizer Rx is a good program. Your trial awaits, so get your hands on this tool!
