It's never too late to find different programs, although their first version for the public was released months or even years ago. Today, the little treasure I found is an all- in- one CD/DVD burning suite called Oront Burning Kit, so here it is!

This product's last version is 1.3 and its trial version can be used for 15 days without functional limitations. The full version costs 29.99$, and the installation kit of the version I have here has almost 6MB in size. Of course that installing this suite is a piece of cake, so let's find out more about the interface and features available, shall we?

The control center of this suite has a menu with three items, each of them leading to a screen with three tools. Each of these nine tools has a modern, clean and good looking interface, some of them being wizards and others not. All we have to do now is explore each of these nine tools and see what and how can be done with it. Let's go!

The first triad of the burning kit is called Data & Disc Images and its task is to handle data and image burning, as well as creation of disc images.

The Data Burning Tool is a well organized and easy to use disc burner that supports CD and DVD discs, UDF file system, creation of bootable discs and more. You don't have any wizard here, but if you look at the interface, you get the idea: drag, drop and burn!

The Image Burning Tool and Image Creation Tool are two wizards that won't let you do anything else than what you should - burn disc images and create images of your CDs and DVDs. The only file formats supported for burning are ISO and CUE, while the images you extract can only be saved as ISO files.

The second triad's name is Audio & Video, and the purpose you can use its three tools is to burn audio, video CDs as well as video DVDs.

The Audio and Video Burning tools look pretty much the same as the Data Burning Tool, with minor differences, and they are also extremely easy to use. The DVD Burning Tool is a wizard that lets you choose the source folder with the files needed for burning the disc and then helps you set it ablaze!

At last, we have three Information Utilities: Information, Disc Managing and Disc Erasing Tool. The second from this list uses an interface that looks like the Data Burning Tool and can be used to extract files from existing discs or finalize discs with a burning session left open. The other tools present in the Information area are two wizards that won't let you go left or right, but straight to your task.

This is it - Oront Burning Kit, an excellent burning suite for beginners and experienced users alike. Now, let's draw the conclusions!

The Good

This application suite is very easy to use, with all the features needed by any beginner, and also something more.

The Bad

In the future, support for much more disc image formats would be good to have. The price is also just a bit high than I would spend on a program like this. Other than that, no complaints!

The Truth

Oront Burning Kit is an interesting choice for most beginners who want something more than the free options available on the market but aren't ready to use Nero (and pay for it, if they don't get it bundled with a new optical drive) yet. As usual, I advise you to try this for yourselves. My run was a pleasant one, so I can't see any reason that yours should be any different. Take your time and enjoy it!
