The world is flooded with system tools; and that for a good reason - your Windows by itself is not enough. Even better than just "system tools", there are a lot of good free ones, apart from the commercial products. But...what are we going to check next?

The target is called PCPal, its version number is only 1.0.1026, but the good part is that this program is completely free. The installation kit has 4.6MB in size and the setup process finishes without any problem. Now, we have to find out more about the way it looks, feels and what can be done with this program.

PCPal's interface is easy to use and very simple, but the way it looks can only be classified as excellent. The features are well organized, the icons are high color shiny ones, carefully done, and the entire interface is a pleasure to look at and use.

The purpose of this program is to help you keep your computer up and running at peak parameters all the time. To ensure this, PCPal optimizes and protects your operating system, monitoring it continuously, notifying you about import issues and, of course, suggesting solutions for each of the problems it finds.

Once the program has been installed, it runs in the background and monitors your computer's environment. The PCPal Center is the place where all the action takes place. Here, you can check the two program's services - Checkup and Messages.

The Checkup area displays issues detected by the program on your computer. There are the next categories of problems that can be found - Security and Privacy, Performance and Maintenance, Network and Internet, Printing and Usage Tips. For each of the problems found, you get some useful information and a solution. The data used for this diagnose is updated from the Internet each time you recheck your system.

The Messages service notifies you about problems related to online support, such as an online backup service and access to PCPal's forums. The best tool available here is the System Report, a very useful and nicely done system information tool that lets you compare your computer's hardware and software to the other program's users average.

As small and simple as it seems, this program can be a good addition to your computer's hardware, and since it's free...there's only one thing to do. You know what I am talking about here, so I'll go straight to the conclusions.

The Good

PCPal is small, cute and useful. It doesn't have a ton of features, but its fresh updates and support make it an excellent tool to keep up with this ever-changing world. If you run into any problems, you have a well done documentation to stand by you. More than all this, PCPal is completely free.

The Bad

I understand that this program is still under heavy development, but how can it miss recognizing my antivirus software, a program having almost twenty years of history behind? Also, some new features would be nice, since the start is good.

The Truth

PCPal is a tool that won't hurt you a bit, but able to help you solve some problems, stay safe and get to know better your computer's secrets. All this comes for free, so I can't say anything else than "get it"!
