For those of you who manage a lot of images and like to have them well-organized, iResize will help you rename and resize photos with just a few clicks.

Whether you are a professional photographer or just an amateur, you will, at some point, need to adjust your photos' size. Now, if you are pro, you probably already have bought the software to help you with that. If you are an average home user, you might want an easy-to-use tool that will help you do that without much fuss. This is where iResize comes to save the day.

This app is as easy to use as can be, enabling you to view and resize your pictures with just a few clicks and it won't cost you a penny.

The installation process is quick: just a few clicks and you are good to go. Once you've opened the app you will surely observe its simple interface. Basically, all that you need is right there in front of you. This makes it a perfect tool for beginners.

First of all, you will select the images that you want to resize. You can do that either by using the Add button or by Drag and Drop each image at a time. Some image management options are offered through the presence of the Remove and Remove All buttons. To select random multiple pictures, just hold down the CTRL key while choosing.

It's very easy to customize the new size for your pictures. Users can choose from setting the size in a percentage of the initial picture or in pixels.

The dimension feature will allow you to manually enter the weight and height of the new image. If you are not sure about the ratio and don't want to get a deformed picture you can enable “the keep constraints” option that will help you get nice looking pictures.

If you want to crop the image you can select the designated option. In order to get a nice looking image you can use the Do not enlarge feature.

One of the options that will surely interest a lot of users is the mobile wallpaper. This section will enable you to create your own, customized wallpapers for your mobile phone. The list is quite satisfactory, though it can, of course, be improved. You will not find the new iPhone 4 in the list, for instance.

iResize also comes with some conversion capabilities. You can select to encode your image to JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF or TIFF. It's fair to say that this list covers the most used image formats out there. You can, of course, choose to keep the same format as the initial image, if you are only interested in resizing a photo.

The JPG and PNG formats come with a compression feature, which has an impact on the quality of your resized images. You can go from 0 to 100.

For those of you who are interested in batch resizing, there is a Resize folder section. It will be active when no images are added. You just select the folder, adjust the resizing options and you are good to go. The process is completed quite fast: 110 images where processed in under a minute, with no conversion. We used JPG images and the RAM usage has gone up to 70MB - quite a lot, if you are using a computer with an older hardware configuration.

One other nice thing that this app offers is the Rotate option. You can select to flip pictures horizontally / vertically or to -90(ccw) / 90(cw), according to your needs.

Last, but not least, iResize offers you an image viewer. This viewer will also display some information regarding the selected photo: name, size, file creation date, last access time or last modification time. Also, you will get to see the number of pictures you've loaded.

The Good

This app will enable you to resize images with just a few clicks. The fact that you can also rotate the pictures is a plus. It's great that you can create your own wallpapers for your mobile phone. This software offers a speedy alternative to anyone who wants to quickly alter the dimensions of digital pictures or convert them to various graphical formats.

The Bad

Some things that can be improved are adding quality adjustment features to the conversion component and maybe a few other file formats in order to provide users a complete program. Points are lost because the user cannot create and save new presets for the dimensions or change the names of the output files.

The Truth

All in all, iResize will get the job done with just a few clicks. You can even create your own mobile wallpaper which comes as a plus in comparison to other image resizing tools on the market. It's quite a good, fast and most of all easy to use app, perfect for beginners.
