Spyware is a modern age plague, but fortunately, a virtual one. This doesn't make it less of a problem, since although it doesn't kill you, sometimes it makes you wish it did. The Internet is full of information on this topic, so I will get straight to the point now.

Out of the many antispyware programs available at this time, I have chosen the one named Spyware Scrapper. What can be said about it? This program reached version 2.1, I got it as a 7 days trial version and its installation kit is 4MB in size. The price of the full version is 19.95$, and since we know all these, let's get to the program's interface and features.

The interface...I got the chance to notice that most antispyware programs producers pay a lot of attention to their application's interface, and this time it's the same. Spyware Scrapper has a Macintosh like interface, and this says it all.

Unfortunately, you don't have any other skins available, and when you browse through the available areas, you may find some small interface display refresh problems. Since I've already mentioned the features, let's go and check them out, because the interface should be obvious - easy to use, nice to watch and good to have in any of your programs that support skins (I am not a Macintosh user, but I love MacOS interfaces).

One of the "must have" features of any antispyware program should be live monitoring of your computer for preventing spyware infections. Spyware Scrapper's proactive protection has three configurable elements - continuous auto protection, homepage hijacking protection and automatic startup with windows.

When it comes to on demand scanning, you have five options available. The scanning process is pretty fast, but you can make it even faster by choosing only one of the three items available for this (processes and files, registry and cookies). The two remaining options allow you to save scan results to a log file and send anonymous data to help identify unknown spyware.

We checked the most important items on the wish list, now...what else? Scheduling is another thing that I have in mind, and it seems I am not the only one. Inside the Settings area, there's a Schedule tab that can help you with that. Using it is a child's play, as well as all the other program's features.

This should be all of it, but don't think that you won't get automatic updates or quarantine/exclusions, because they are also here. Spyware Scrapper is just another small, handy and easy to use antispyware program, and it's even a good looking one!

The Good

As I said so far, this program is a real pleasure to use. If I have to sum this up, then we get speed, looks, and ease of use as main strong points of this program, which should be good enough for most people.

The Bad

There are two bad things here, but none of them could be considered critical. First, there are some small issues with the interface that I've noticed, and the price is (just a bit) too high, in my opinion.

The Truth

I am one of those who try to use safe browsers, safe sites and avoid antispyware programs, but you can't get enough safety these days no matter what you do. If you want to equip your computer with some additional armor, then take your time to try Spyware Scrapper, maybe this is your next software addition...
