I am not crazy about Web browsers, but I am always happy when I get to see a new one. Well...that's only a part of the truth, because there are also some commercial Web browsers around, and most of them don't have enough reasons to make me happy. The big reasons for a commercial Web browser to make me unhappy are called Opera, Firefox, Maxthon, K-Ninja and a few others, but let's move on and see what we have here today...

WindowSurfer is a Web browser with an automatic login feature, and what I have here is a 30 days trial version. To register, you'll have to take out of the pocket 49.95$, and for now, I think that it takes a lot to go above one star value rating this way...but I don't want to rush any judgment, so let's take it easy... The program's setup package has exactly 4MB in size, and installing it was a piece of cake. These being said, it's the time to check out the interface and features.

WindowSurfer's interface is disappointing, at least. First of all, it took me a while to understand how to use it, and unfortunately, I had no revelation afterwards, as it happened with K-Ninja. The browser I have here today has an outdated interface that's not even too easy to use. I use some ugly Web browsers from time to time, but I never had problems when using them like here. No skins, hard to use tabs, and this is only a part of the bad stuff I have found here. No problem, maybe there's more than meets the eye here...for almost 50$, I really expect some amazing features!

I should probably write a lot about the autologin feature, or at least that's what the producer should write about...but I won't. When starting up the program for the first time, you have to create a master user and password, this making WindowSurfer an excellent choice for shared computers.

Despite the fact that you can open multiple pages at once, using them is not as easy as when you're doing this in Firefox or Maxthon. I don't want to have a compared review here, but I really want to make you understand that despite the fact that WindowSurfer would be a fair free browser, its price makes it completely worthless.

This browser automatically imports Internet Explorer history and favorites, and this can only add a white ball to the pot, but unfortunately, I've seen a lot of free browsers doing it, so...using this program is like paying for the sunshine.

The automatic form filler's options are not rich at all, and the reason is that WindowSurfer is not customizable at all, so this is a problem of the entire program, not only of the form filler.

I was hoping to get a download manager or a page translation feature here, but I didn't. I didn't even get some skins, and side panels with Links, Favorites and Search areas I've seen so many times before...

At the start of the day I felt good, but I don't feel that way anymore. It's not because of the food I just ate, but don't go away yet. Good or bad, we still should have some conclusions about WindowSurfer, shouldn't we?

The Good

WindowSurfer is a nice browser that can be an excellent choice for users that share the same computer and don't want to risk the confidentiality of their personal data.

The Bad

This is a commercial browser, it's way too expensive and lacks a lot of features that its free competitors already have. Even worse, its speed proved quite slow and the system resources taken, pretty high.

The Truth

I don't have anything against paying for good software, but WindowSurfer is not one of those, unfortunately. You can try it and maybe you'll find it useful, but if you don't have a lot of time to waste, then I am sure you'll find a better task to fill in your schedule...
