In this huge virtual world - the Internet - you can find software for almost everything depending what you are looking for. Well, I wanted an organizer so I could have a little order in my personal life.

The second thing you look for in a software, apart from the obvious utility, is to have something more, to separate itself from other programs. Some special functions, a nice interface; things like that make all the difference.

There are a lot of organizer software out there but do-Organizer seemed to be the best solution for my needs. It is an all-in-one application for everything you may want from an organizer and more!

When you open the application you could feel a little bit overwhelmed by the multitude of tabs, but this is not a bad thing because they all serve a well defined purpose. The program's interface is very clean, in the sense that you can navigate easily and not get stuck in useless windows. Putting aside the strictly functional part, do-Organizer is really nice to look at.

On the left side of the application there is a navigation toolbar that will help you go to the desired section. Being a personal information manager, do-Organizer has all the standard functions like keeping your contacts, appointments, tasks, etc, but what sets it apart from other hundreds of programs like that is the fact that it offers so much more.

What I found to be a nice functional feature was the MiniBar. This is a floating toolbar that gives you the option of accessing all the sections and functions of do-Organizer without having to open the main window. A feature that comes in very handy if you are surfing the web is that if you want to add a URL you can just drag and drop it into the MiniBar.

The Home page contains the summarized information from the sections of your choice. do-Organizer is a highly customizable program that will allow you to put your personal touch on things. This section is the proof of that. You can change the picture to whatever you want and add your own quotes on top of the supplied ones. From here on, you can make the setting that will make the interface more appealing to your taste.

Like any self-respecting PIM (Personal Information Manager), do-Organizer has a Contacts Manager. I was amazed by the amount of information and detail I can put in for each contact. do-Organizer doesn't only offer a database for names, but gives you the means to communicate with your Contacts at the click of the mouse. You are able to send emails within do-Organizer using do-Mailer or you can dial the telephone number of a contact by launching your default telephone dialing software.

The Calendar section is where you do your scheduling and mark appointments. You may toggle the view within the section so you are able to see the current day, five days, week or year.

Do-Organizer's Tasks section helps you define and organize your tasks in different ways. You can use colors and folders to have a better view of things and get everything done in time.

You may think that the Scribe section is a simple text editing tool, but the things you can do with it will surpass your expectations. You are able to insert all kinds of data from tables, pictures, flash animations to sound and video files.

do-Organizer's Journal is the place for writing day-to-day stuff, memos, notes, thoughts. It resembles the Scribe section so you know now that your diary can be as colorful and content rich as you want.

The planner section is what you can use to have an overview of a year's events. You can add events for a single day or events that span over multiple days, months and so on. To better visualize everything, there is a color-code, so you can have vacation days marked in red and your exams in blue.

When you take a look at the MindScape section you see just how complex do-Organizer is. Mindscape is a diagramming tool that will "paint a picture" for you. With the help of note blocks and connectors you can have a much better view on things than if you had to read a list of text.

With the help of the Reports section you will be able to filter the information so that you can see only specific records.

To save your time, do-Organizer even has an integrated email client. This feature comes in very handy; just click on the email address of a contact and do-Mailer pops up.

Do-Organizer helps organize every aspect of your life, even the virtual one. To keep all your URL's neatly sorted you have Linx.

For all the data that is for your eyes only, you can use the Vault. Here you can keep private information securely locked.

There is a lot to say about this software, because of its complexity but the best thing is to try it yourselves and see how well it will suit you.

The Good

do-Organizer has a very nice interface and the level of customization the application can support is high so you can give it a personal touch.

The Bad

The only "bad" thing about do-organizer may be the price of 89$. This price is justified but for most people it is a little high.

The Truth

do-Organizer is an application that is versatile, complete and customizable and it will help give you anything you may want from a personal information manager and more.
