Softpedia Editor's Review for PhotoFiltre Studio X
|
A complete image retouching program
Written by Bogdan Popa on October 25th, 2011
Most computer users find Adobe’s Photoshop extremely difficult to use and although it can help them achieve impressive results, lots of them simply try to avoid using it.
A great replacement is PhotoFiltre Studio X, still an unpopular name that has great chances to succeed in a market dominated by Adobe’s software solution.
PhotoFiltre Studio X is extremely easy to install, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it is also very easy to use. The interface is still a complex one, with tools and buttons everywhere you look, so you might need some time to get used to it.
Of course, PhotoFiltre Studio X can help you a lot not only if you intend to do simple things such as resizing, cropping or adding transparency, but also if you dream about more complex tasks such as color adjusting, applying effects or working with layers.
PhotoFiltre Studio X could be very well considered a lite version of Photoshop, although Adobe’s tool can help do you a lot more.
This one works very smooth however and the amount of hardware resources it needs is quite impressive, even when working with multiple photos at the same time.
All in all, PhotoFiltre Studio X is the right tool if you still want to work with a powerful image editing application but you’re a bit afraid of Adobe’s Photoshop. And the price you have to pay is not even close to Photoshop’s: around 50 bucks for a full license.
