AU is an audio file extension initially created to be used on Sun Microsystems and Unix-based machines. Currently, it has become the default audio format largely used on Unix platforms.
AU files contain multiple components, including a header with 24 bytes,an annotation block and the actual audio data.
In order to be able to enjoy AU tracks, users will require a dedicated software application.
