Automatic data migration is a pretty helpful solution, he says

Windows XP end of support is just around the corner, so plenty of users would still be running this particular OS version on April 8 when Microsoft discontinues it completely.

But even though so many people urged consumers to upgrade as soon as possible, Sumir Karayi, the CEO of 1E, a company focused on IT efficiency software, said in a statement that Windows XP users had no reason to panic yet, as automatic data migration tools still came in handy to address the problem of moving to a new operating system fast and easily.

“Many businesses that are attempting to shore up their defences, instead of migrating away from Windows XP, are installing security and support measures that are eye-wateringly expensive,” he said.

Microsoft itself knows that moving from a Windows XP computer to a new device running Windows 8.1 is quite a difficult task, especially for beginners, so the company recently rolled out a freeware data migration application specifically supposed to get more users off XP.

And still, statistics released earlier this morning show that Windows XP is still installed on 28 percent of computers worldwide, so there’s no chance to see everyone moving to another operating system before end of support arrives.
