The petition reaches new record number of signatures

Pokemon Go is now available worldwide, so there’s no need to turn to more or less complex workarounds to play it in unsupported countries, but Windows Phone users still have no option as far as their devices are concerned.

Despite rumors that Microsoft itself might be looking into ways to bring Pokemon Go on Windows Phone, users on the platform can’t do much about it, and their only way to show how much they want the game on their devices is to sign this petition.

The number of Windows Phone users who are signing this petition is growing at an impressive pace and is very close to reaching 80,000, despite the fact that, by July 7 (which is only 11 days ago), only 4,000 people showed their support for a WP version of the game.

Unfortunately, despite the immense support that this petition is gaining and the huge number of users that are asking for Pokemon Go to launch on Windows Phone, Niantic still doesn’t seem to be interested in porting the game to Microsoft’s mobile operating system.

There are users who have decided to abandon ship and switch to Android and iOS just because they can’t play Pokemon Go, so Niantic is somehow affecting the platform even without specifically wanting to. Hopefully, Microsoft will find a way to work with Nintendo on this, and it won’t take long until Pokemon Go launches on Windows phones.
