14 DAY TRIAL // Adobe is almost ready to wrap up the development for the stable version of Lightroom 4.1, as they rolled out the second release candidate. Besides adding support for a batch of 12 cameras, the new build also brings to the table new color fringe controls and a set of fixes.
Color fringe correction controls in Adobe Lightroom 4.1 RC2 allow you to eliminate chromatic aberration. However, the enhancement available in this release permits discarding purple and green fringes in out-of-focus areas and along high-contrast boundaries.
As these chromatic aberrations are more evident with high-speed lenses, the new controls are particularly useful to photographers shooting all sorts of events.
The repairs in this release do away with issues such as the Adjustment Brush not accepting negative values, failure to import RAW and JPEG directly from a number of cameras when connected through USB or when using the built-in SD card reader on Macbook laptops.
