More and more high-quality apps arrive in the store these days, so it should come as no surprise that Ubisoft has recently launched Assassin's Creed Pirates on Windows 8.1 too.

As it’s the case with the other mobile platforms, the game comes with a pretty addictive gameplay and includes features to engage in what Ubisoft calls “brutal” naval combats, build up your crew and ship, explore a huge map with more than 50 story and side missions, and meet notorious pirates, such as Sam Bellamy, Ben Hornigold and Blackbeard.

“Become one of the most feared pirates of the Caribbean in this exclusive Assassin's Creed adventure on smartphones and tablets! Play as Alonzo Batilla, a young and ambitious captain, a pirate eager to take on the fiercest of enemies... Break all the rules, challenge empires and make your own fortune!” the app description published in the store reads.

The game can be played on both desktops and tablets, but it’s a Windows 8.1-exclusive title, so those on Windows 8 cannot play it right now.

Unfortunately, the game isn’t offered free of charge, but with a $4.49 (€3.60) price tag, so you’ll have to purchase a full license in order to download it.

The full pack measures nearly 950 MB in size, so it should take a while until all files are downloaded on your device.
