Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has been crowned the most admired person in the entire world as part of a survey conducted in 13 countries across the world and involving 14,000 people.

The poll, which was made by YouGov for The Times, included residents in Great Britain, France, Germany, Russia, the US, Australia, Pakistan, Indonesia, India, China, Egypt, Nigeria and Brazil, according to a report by The Economic Times, and placed Bill Gates ahead of several important state leaders.

US President Barack Obama was the runner-up, while Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pope Francis, and cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar followed him pretty close.

While there’s no doubt that Bill Gates deserves the title of the most admired person in the world for the philanthropic work he’s doing right now, I can’t help but wonder how come people actually voted Angelina Jolie the 19th person in this list.
